I listened to it right through three times at different levels of inebriation (sober, lightly out of it, post-club wrecked) to see if I needed to be at one particular state and it annoyed the hell out of my ear drums every time. For me it was 16 tracks of 'Clang, clang, clang, crk-crk-clang crk-clang [repeat]' - an hour of Sonic hitting those bumper things and diamonds during the special stages of Sonic 1. This must be what Autechre sounds like to my friends. lol, this, Precisely. it couldn't be anything but annoying to my ears, and it did try.
