Haha, how on earth did you come across 'smød'? For all I know, it's just slang. I guess it must be a compound of "sød", meaning "nice/sweet", and "blød", meaning "soft". I first heard it being used by a Danish hip hop act from the 90's, Malk De Koijn. They're absolutely brilliant, they really threw the whole Danish language around. That I had all the samples and instruments loaded up from the beginning, and did all the fiddling real-time while recording it. Volume, changing of the drums, reverb, modulation, stuff like that.
