Maybe a little bit Basic Channel influenced...sweet sounds but you should put more thought into the layout of it. Maybe use some tasty reverb too :)

i didn't know BASIC CHANNEL, but i don't want to do more variations. my aim is to create a complex stream that must persist for 4-5 minutes without getting bored. thanks for your point of view.

right know, to avoid that problem (getting bored), music makers usually use to make tracks wich get variations each 3-4 beat 2-3 second. The result is a useless bunch of different architectures that hide the original idea. i'd like to avoid it, allowing the original intuition to go on in an arrogant way, without any sort of compromise.

Its one synth that is being modulated. I would call this ambient

ambient is not dance....

I got bored after the first bar. Your aims and ideas are way better than the result.

Also this is total bullshit.

interesting modulation noodling you got there

if the goal was to keep it interesting the entire way through, i must say that it fell short with me. there was no groove to hold on to, no real tonal development/progression, the core idea seems unfocused and more just like a solo warm-up... unless the core idea was to capture a close-up of a moth swinging around a light, then you nailed it :sorcerer:

actually I think he's got a point. it's no secret that EKT is full of a lot of half-assed analord wannabe shit, and at least this track is a bit of a break from it.

Well I just checked the last 5 tracks on YLC and only one of them had some small similarities to analord so I guess this 'secret' is probably old. And I check YLC pretty often. Analord clones aren't very rare but obviously they aren't majority too.

I called that statement a total bullsit because it's basiclly saiyng that all contemporary music with variations on each bar is 'a useless bunch of different architectures that hide the original idea' which obviously is a total bullshit.

In my opinion calling your music post anything is a bit silly. Cool to see a track on here that causes discussion though

pretty interesting that you got those sounds out of one synth but labeling your thread "a new kind of techno" is dooming you to negative criticism.

first: this is not "new techno" mainly because there's no way i can picture myself dancing to this (unless that's how you'd define "new techno"?). there's no steady pulse or sense of repetition, which I would consider key elements of techno. if you want to nit-pick at the details of what techno is then be my guest but I think that was a pretty bold statement you made there...

secondly: for what it is though, it's quite good. I'd consider it closer to ambient and noise and I agree that maybe you could add some verb (or at least add something in that creates a sense of space...even just a gruff voice saying "THIS SONG IS PLAYING IN A BIG HALL"). what did you use to make this anyway?

that's the point.... the song is repetitive all track long but not in a linear way, but in a skizofrenic manner, that's way i used "post"...in parallel with all post-modern thoughts. also i don't think is needed fat-kik to move the ass. thanks for your interest.

it's like when you don't start well, and you need repairs each moment...from an aesthetic point of view is relly nasty...

dude,

it's an arrhythmic one-note modulated synth. drop the pretense

oh wait, excuse me, you play 3 or 4 notes once you get to the three minute mark... and they don't really work together... original idea needs repairs

I understand what I'm reading fine, I just think you should leave it to the music journalists to come up with "post" anything. It's pretentious and you know it...I'm guessing you came here for constructive criticism and other music maker's advice and opinions on this track, and you're being defensive as hell about it. If you want to be arse kissed talk to people on Soundcloud.

The synth sounds nice and I like the way it starts back up at seemingly random intervals. The same sort of ideas are explored in Basic Channel stuff, but the tracks evolve in more interesting and subtle ways in my opinion (you should give the Basic Channel compilations a listen). I like that you're thinking differently about music making to most, and for what it is, it is good.

You might not need a "fat-kik" to move your arse but this would clear the dance floor in the real world haha :)

i think each of us have an idea about how define their music. i have mine and i'm not trying to defend it, i just explained why i have it, why i used POST. anyway thanks for advice.

I thought it was boring, used to do this stuff in FL many years ago.

Thanks for providing entertainment though!

fuck yeah basic channel

/constructive contribution

were you being sarcastic or not? I think the Basic Channel comparison was ok, same sort of basic idea but they thought of it in 1993.
