it's good for something you made in one night. but in my opinion it needs to have some more drastic changes to become a finished thing. for something you made in one night, it's pretty good. there are directions i could see it going in, so there's potential. i really like the dark uhh, acid bass synths that come in towards the end, with the sort of pads and stuff. nice.

thx man! and thx for the comment!

I work pretty fast thou. polish is needed and it's coming sooner or later,

I need to work on dynamics

I'm not sure if I will be able to add more stuff thou ;) but I'm sure I can do better with better dynamics and a little more polish!

"she's already married / I'm alraedy dead" ;)

so

yesterday I made another one, it went pretty fast like ~30 minutes... lol

it's dedicated to the homeless man at my place :), it'S not very good at all, but it's done in 25-30 minutes

sorry to push this again but today I've installed ableton...

the first time I had a touch on waveforms hench I'm pretty used to step sequencer and piano roll... I couldn't find that on ableton

I had a hard time rendering too... lol

this is a totally wierd one piece improv work,

You're improving. Still some weird choices of sounds here and there.Like that cymbal around 1:50. For some reason, that sounds a bit wrong to me. The melody is alright. Nothing spectacular, but it works. Some people would probably say this track is too repetitive, but I think you introduce enough new stuff throughout the track to keep it somewhat interesting.

Again, it's not really a bad track. It does sound less preset-y than your earlier stuff, which is a good thing.

thx for the comments, I got a note for some crash sounds already in my pad,

yeah the cymbal is presettish too.

gritbox, if so I'll gonna hook you up with this pants you wanted and the socks too.

usually I like composition and progression so it's a long fucking road for me!!

All is done with VST, no effects/filter on tracks or samples, just on the vsts. thanks again for listening I know there is alot of really good stuff out there.

it sure does build up slowly. lol

this isnt that bad. pretty good in fact. sounds a bit like menu music to a game or the title screen of a DVD.

I really like it when all the parts come in, very 80s cheesey synthesised sounds along with inditerminable rythm, i really like that combination.

However the intro didn´t do it for me.. Just sounded kind of, well, amateur i guess haha. Just a bit too midi and un-produced.

i´m liking where its going

I want to put my hands on this in the future, I'll do a short version of that one too

thx for the listening guyse :DD !

I made 3 new, each is ~3 minutes

I like this, I need to make it louder or somewhat..

the volumes/dynamics are not very good, the end makes no real sense, bassline is just static

Didn't want to upload this at first, if you listen to it take care for the random melody! ~1:48 lol

So if I was you I would make use of the sounds you've created here. Cut it up, sample it, and build something from the sounds in this track - I'm talking about the part at 1:24. A slow and deep 4/4 on top of those slightly distorted pads would be great. It doesn't take much more than that. But you should definitely work on creating a sound you like and your buildups.

i like this one quite a bit. sounds like it should be in Mass effect. i think you should spend more time on it cause you could really make this into one of your best pieces. definitely need to work on the mix and of course "insert the usual preset sound comments here". youve got all the parts there and don't need to compose any more. youve just gotta tweak the sounds around till you get them just perfect.

@squee

I did this "on the fly" in 13 minutes, I was quite suprised about it tbh. lol

The sounds came along with ableton 9, I changed the waveforms here and there, the mainsound is even presett.

Abelton seems to be rly nice, I like it quite alot. I think I'll try to work with it in future. I'm used to FL.

@frankie

Okay, I'll take that advice. I like intro and backround music for games and movies, so for me thats quite a compliment.

I'M quite mad at the moment, I made another 2 yesterday 1:41 and 4minutes.... only listened to them on headphones,

I think my music works only with headphones most of the time

I do wish though that you would create endings to your tracks, because at the moment they all just sound like concepts/experiments. I´d like a more fitting way to hear the track end if that were possible :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Thx alot for the comments, I feel a bit wierd right now, I think I have to change everything if I want to step up, let's see .. ; )

If I listen with my stereo I don't like many of my songs. Even with my headphones I only like about 5-10% buuut I'm not giving up!

I know it sucks to have a sound just breakup in the middle of everything, sorry about it.

I also finally start to realize that starting a new thing everytime is kinda difficult (i don't say stupid but in my case maybe it really is),

I just don't like my stuff enough to rework on it so I guess I'll change my settings and then go on do crap like now just with a midiC and better settings.

how to produce crap, everyting needs to be done with a mouse no midi controller and also needs to be complete within 1 session (it's ok if you arange it on the next day), I'd be sad if I could not do it better in future!
