too long? acidy stuff

I don't know if it's too long, but it gets a bit repetitive around 3:00. I think it's the deep acid bass that makes it repetitive because it doesn't change over the course of 3 minutes. But it should be fairly easy to keep the track interesting by messing around with the knobs on your 303 or whatever plugin you use. And maybe add some more breaks. I thought the beginning was pretty good, because it was fairly varied. I usually don't listen to acid music, because I find it kinda boring, but I was pleasantly surprised by the reverse snare around 0:59 - and small breaks/details like that keeps me listening. So yeah, I would love it if you added more breaks and variations.

Oh, and another thing... you should think about switching up the drums a bit here and there. I don't know why, but I was kinda hoping for a simple but deep 4/4 kick right around 2:42 where the track changes a bit. That would help adding some dynamics to the track... or at least, I think so :)

Btw, the production is great :)

Yeah, I'm not getting "too long" either. I enjoyed that cover to cover. Really dig the melody you fade in @ 2:42.

thanks, it's an sh 101

Nah man it's great. Love the break in the middle.

thanks, mate

I thought it was groovy although it could have done with a hook of some kind. :-)

a hook?

yeah i think what's there is really good. the only possible thing that could improve it for me, would be if a melody up above the basses came in at some point, or maybe some pads or something. i like how there are ever so slight stutters here and there with the drums. shows restraint, and is very slick.

Very good, personally I would add a tiny bit of melodic or rhythmic variation on the long repetitive parts, just a bar here or there that could add a little nuance to the mood of the thing - it wouldn't have to change very much even. Actually I agree it could be longer and get more resonant and trippy maybe as it builds? I wouldn't think it should get distorted though, it has that creepy trancey thing I think you wouldn't want to spoil that with more hardcore breaks (maybe even some voice/noises samples to feed the imagination). Maybe a little more detailing on the breaks? Little briefs reverbs and off beat moments might be nice? Just my ideas, like I said, it's very good already.

Actually maybe getting more resonant as it builds is a bit cliched and unimaginative, maybe some other kind of compositional movement - no idea what though! (in reference to my previous comment, not a criticism of your track at all btw)
