not trying to pervert the metal too fully here, but this is a pretty good take on a classic early metal(y)/rock band getting the edit treatment done 100% right:
If I were to make a 100 favorite songs of all-time list (how hard would that be) the original "Planet Caravan" would probably be on there.
Listening to Red Fang's last album atm. They definitely have some shades of grunge/punk/hard rock in there. Love it though.

Agreed that ep8 was a masterpiece. Gonna be so bummed out when the season ends.

i have a prediction, something bad is going to happen to Saul's brother. He seems to be literally the only thing grounding him at the moment to not go full 'slippin jimmy'.
I'm guessing chuck will betray him somehow and make him shed all the fucks he gives.
Never thought of this possibility. I did think of something bad happening to Chuck sending Jimmy into a moral tailspin.
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. It was great watching Jimmy stand up for his brother even when perhaps, he shouldn't. I also think that some of these loose threads are going to culminate slowly into something greater (the skaters, kettlemans, toilet-guy, white shepherd boy woman). Obviously the Mike stuff is fascinating.

Actress - R.I.P. 9/10 The first track alone is worth the price of admission. This album deserves the hype it got a couple of years ago IMO.

This thread helped me discover all kinds of new music I didn't know about before. It was one of the main reasons early on I kept coming round to WATMM.

Still not sick of VHS Head. PoV grew on me over time, even tho I wasn't as into it at first.I liked PoV better than TRoG, though the latter is more impressive technically.

I have a Sony Walkman 16gb mp3 player from a few years ago. Works fine and is reliable. Strange thing though -- it has a noticeably thin sound on anything played through it (and it's not my mp3s). I did a side by side, same track comparison with my friend's old Ipod classic to make sure I wasn't crazy. It was really truly noticeable. Like the low mids or high bass had been scooped or something. Best way I can put it is that it's like any track you play through it has no body. Maybe they've fixed that in subsequent versions or maybe I have an importing setting wrong, I don't know.

Cool effect!

You lucky folks in Europe get it on Netflix the day after it airs. It will be sometime after the whole first season airs for U.S. Netflix.

I'm wondering if David Cross will do a cameo.
That would be great, especially if he's introduced as a total stranger to Bob/Saul at first.
Agreed!

I think, BOC in their earlier days, hit on a world that drew everyone in. This old electronic music world of 60s and 70s which has associations to cartoons, movies, nature, eagles and fuckin natural parks and boyscouts and just general mystery of memories, and they managed to nail it and stick it in a more modern package. I think maybe TCH didn't deliver as much on that mystery, and TH, even though it has, at least to me, a more promising concept, does not, for whatever reason deliver the old horror / thriller type of mood. I still feel like the world is there, and there are tracks that can be created that gives all those emotions, but I just don't feel like this is it. Although, a part of me also knows that the brain is what creates all this stuff and it is subjective, so it could be a matter of a persons life that determines how impactful a record is, but at the same time it feels like there are 'objective' sounds that kind of resonate with a lot of people, it's not like everyone is different about everything. So fuck if I know. I still like several of the tracks, but it's not like a heavyweight I guess.
I very much agree with this. Very well put.
I would add that I think if you stripped their most powerful songs down to their essences (composition, chords, melodies) they would still resonate deeply. Doing it with de-tuned beautiful eerie synth work as well as mutilated self-sampled work pushed it to a new dimension and made it a revelation to a large group of people. And nostalgia is a part of that. But there's more there.

Bob Odenkirk said in this interview released two days ago that the series will jump around and play with the timeline. And Vince said somewhere else that it's likely that they will explore post-BB Saul. (great interview -- especially the second half) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lfVasKQiJQ
Second episode was good shit and it's fun watching the journey from insecure James McGill to cocksure Saul Goodman. I feel like there's so much possibility to look forward to.
What TV series are you watching at moment?

Bates Motel is continuing to slowly evolve the character of Norman. And Norma is played greatly, as usual.
