Prisoners. Engaging plot with some good acting. Wish some of the characters were flushed out more but the acting made up for that. Plot was interesting enough to keep me interested and guess throughout 2 and a half hours. Will def check out more from this director

stupid first world problems you're dealing with

You could just continue what it is you do and not care about what they choose to do. I play in a band with chain-smoking alcoholics. When they have a smoke break, i don't. When they have four beers, I have one. Simple. FWP: my San Fransisco trip is over. :( Dang I live pretty close to SF. What'd you do?- 27,879 replies

stupid first world achievements and successes
Danny O Flannagin replied to eugene's topic in General Banter
Oh man, congrats! That's prolly my favorite sampler of all time. I think of it like a poor man's SP-1200 (no relation) because of how good the lo-fi setting is and how easy it is to mix on it using the isolator and vinyl sim. Like, on the 1200 all you have to do to mix your tune is put your samples on the correct channels and the filters will do all the mixing for you, and on the 303 you just put the vinyl sim on the whole thing and it mixes it for you, like it pulls the snare up and glues everything together perfectly. I've only encountered a couple pieces of gear like that that have a 'magic button.' Also, I have an SP-303 shirt that is my favorite piece of clothing of all time. Lol, found you on the SP forums. It seems like you know what your doing, might message you if I come across any problems- 5,529 replies

Lol, i thought you meant you would be getting paid 75 dollars for every minute you worked on music not 1 minute of completed music.- 27,879 replies

I can understand how someone wouldn't like the detuned synth but I think it adds some good/quirky tension in the track. Like your brain is sort of trying to put it in tune but your ears are telling your otherwise

Miles The Autobiography Very conversational writing and he uses the word "motherfucker" a lot. Learning a lot about the new york jazz scene in the 40's

Good post sir. 100% agree Really like this last point you made although if that were true personality would be determined by where you live, which has some truth to it

This shit! I had someone who was SO convinced astrology was legit that they gave me a full star chart/reading that was a few dozen pages. I actually humored them and read 2/3 of it and it was filled to the brim with cover-all-bases vague & contradictory statements like this. Needless to say I told them I thought it was BS and they said that I was just dissecting the language too much and playing devil's advocate because I'm an Aquarius. Lol, this was a portion of the profile that I deliberately pointed out to the audience and i was like "look guys, that sentence applies to everyone in this room"
-
So on a slightly unrelated note, my speech went pretty good and i got a few laughs out of the audience. It wasn't that serious and I was mainly poking fun at astrology in a playful way. Before the speech I passed around a bunch of these to test that Forer effect: As I expected most people rated it 4 out of 5 in accuracy to themselves I also had a Sagan quote at the end "The universe is not required to be in perfect harmony with human ambition"

Lol, maybe if you did what your horoscope tells you, you'd have a job and girlfriend.
-
This just happened to me the other day "Oh I don't believe in astrology" "What's your sign" "Pisces" "Ok that explain it" Girl, what?
-
It's an ancient study and I'm not sure if they even applied the scientific method. Thank you sir, will def use this in the speech
-
Im reading some of the profiles right now and although they are different personalities, i feel like they are different aspects of the average human. Most of us have the personality they are talking about depending on the situation

It's a final in my speech class at the community college I go to. We're basically free to do what we want for this last speech. I kind of want to see how many people I piss off with this speech I'm hoping very few. Good luck! Carl Sagan's 'The Demon Haunted World' was the book that started my trek off the bullshit path, so I have a soft spot for your avatar. :) For sure, Imma def give a Sagan quote during the speech. probably something from Cosmos when he had a little section calling out Astrology on it's bullshit

So i'm doing a speech on how astrology is bullshit and a pseudo science with blatant over generalization and no real hard evidence to back it up. But I want to hear the other side. Do any of you believe in astrology? Do you read your horoscope? Can you explain the logic behind astrology? What is spiritualism exactly (everyone uses that word and I still have no idea what it means.) Thanks, also if you don't believe in astrology feel free to destroy it or post links
