  1. that moment when the full beat kicks in at 2:03 is sublime
  2. I felt like I was experiencing TH overload so I decided to give it up for a few weeks. Listened again for the first time yesterday. It's still fucking excellent.
  3. Huh? He says pretty directly that having a negative opinion about something simply because it's popular in the mainstream is insane.
  4. I totally get there are and will be a wide range of opinions about Tomorrow's Harvest. But I don't get all the people who are dissatisfied because it's not like this album or that album. Or it's missing this particular sound or that particular feeling from previous work. If that's the way you listen to albums then of course you're likely to be disappointed. This applies to life as well as it applies to new music: be in the moment! Be ready for whatever's coming next. It doesn't mean you're required to like everything. But put yourself in a position where it's possible to like anything. If you spend all your time comparing to the past, you will not hear the present.
  5. I can't believe they would promise content not contained on the album and then fail to deliver. That's embarrassing.
  6. That's not how they made it sound when the cards were first given out.
  7. So what was the deal with those download cards? Did anybody get into the reserva site? Was there exclusive content?
  8. I love most of the tracks on TCH. Not a fan of Hey Saturday Sun or Dayvan Cowboy. I just didn't like the vibe of the album as a whole. Sunbleached and chill? not my favorite.
  9. Also as much as I do really dig this album, there is a part of me that misses their more playful side (Aquarius, Roygbiv) and their more direct beats (Happy Cycling, Kid For Today, Everything You Do Is A Balloon, Pete Standing Alone etc etc).
  10. Listens sullied by mosquito bites and skunk sprays don't count as official listens in my macro. Kaini, do you have the numbers from Twoism?
  11. Please let us know after each successive listen so I can update my spreadsheet.
  12. Hard to imagine anyone else writing this album and hard to discuss it outside the context of their prior material.
  13. Pitchfork got it right, I think: http://m.pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/18104-boards-of-canada-tomorrows-harvest/
  14. I don't get that part. Why force yourself to hold an opinion that may or may not be subject to change? Be open to whatever comes next. You appeared to be having negative expectations prior to hearing it. So I wonder if you set yourself up to be disappointed?
  15. Also I agree with whoever said that they held back a bit in terms of beats.
  16. I love the album too. There are certain tracks I would never listen to in isolation - White Cyclosa and Sundown. They're way too cinematic. But they work within the context of the album. I can see why some of you folks feel the way you do. But I just keep hearing new reasons to listen more closely. And I keep hearing tracks and parts of them as if for the first time, discovering and appreciating things that I hadn't connected with previously.
  17. That's the impression you give dude. That's what I'm saying.
  18. I think all thia victimizing of those who ain't feeling it is super twoism. But there's more to it with Oscilik. It's not just his bizarrely strict principles about trivial things, and definitely not just because he didn't enjoy his first listen on a format that I'm surprised he would even use. It's that you will never hear him say something like "boy it's a shame they didn't ". Or "the way the melody comes in..." It's always something like "Completely disgusting" or "triumphantly pathetic." Or some other way of showing his seeming utter contempt and disdain after one listen.
