Yeah this was my reaction to the final trailer before Elden Ring released as well. I'm of the lore-analyzing-like-a-crackhead-team so most of the late game bosses were spoiled there. Miyazaki said in an interview the DLC is about the size of Limgrave, wonder if it's a similar situation to the base game, I remember him saying it takes about 40 hours to complete which was such an understatement. He really undersold the game with this, took me like 120 hours to see every nook and cranny. From Software coming in with the chad marketing energy

Yeah I had the same impression- they completely spoiled the ending right away

It is a brilliant and cohesive album. I just don't get Jacquard Causeway at all. It just sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Maybe if it wasn't the longest track it would be different? I don't know. 20 years later and I still am meh about it but the rest is perfection.

edit: I clearly just summoned a new BoC Instagram post. Imminence is imminent.

I didn’t like it in the beginning as well but the drum is kind of trance inducing pushing the boc trademark sound into your brain in such an intense way that it’s almost overwhelming like eating a really large candy bar. Once you commit to that the track becomes really awesome

it’s also important to listen on really good speakers so none of the crispy smoky sound of that drum gets lost

Can't wait for this, hope they don't show much more than this until June. Love the feeling you get exploring these worlds with no knowledge about them whatsoever. Sleep swamp confirmed? Here's some screenshots from their website showing more things:

True Detective S4 was an absolute train wreck. Not sure how it happened as HBO has an outstanding track record due to their quality control and willingness to green light projects other platforms would botch, if not avoid entirely, but goddamn.  I feel bad for all the actors involved as this just came across as so bad in so many different ways. The editing with the overuse of music, and not just any music but for the most part really vapid and even flat out goofy selections (an acoustic,  austere cover of the Twist?, for real?) caught me off guard.

The overuse of profanity, especially the word fuck, particularly in the last episode, was mind-boggling. Seriously. Throughout the series but especially at the end everyone shared the same ape-brained dialogue you would expect from a 13 year old schoolyard bully. The show got progressively worse in all aspects but you can REALLY hear it in the dialogue as the writers rushed through it at the end.

I honestly thought the setting and the basic premise of the show on paper could have been great. The native community, the mining protests, female protagonists all could have been handled just fine but they really did have to overreach and make it disturbingly woke. The complete gender role-reversal and glaring emasculation of the men in uniform is on full display here. Men are only fit to flip pancakes or submissively mop up the crime scene while their female counterparts are performing sexual conquests on other women’s trophy husbands or partaking in 3 v 1 fistfights with the neighborhood bad boys.

Lastly, it’s just fucking bad. As others have already mentioned the jump scares they go for don’t land and look straight out of the forgettable early 2000’s Japanese repurposed for American horror audiences genre, complete with stock audio cues and all. They just straight up try to shoehorn in a connection to a riveting scene in from the first season of True Detective, there are a ton of plot holes, loose ends, etc. But the worst part is that they have some damn good actors in here that tried their hardest to polish this turd. Navarro was a little iffy in a few scenes but other than that I would say everyone tried their damndest to make up for the terrible writing and made it passable enough for me to continue watching it.

I will say that I gave up on TD season 2 about midway through because it was boring and was pleasantly surprised with how much I wound up enjoying season 3. This was a fucking gong show however, but I can’t imagine a scenario where S5 could be worse than what I just watched.

So it’s completely unwatchable? Sounds like a 2/10

  5. I am currently looking for DJ equipment that will make me get used to the big decks that are used in clubs like the large pioneer DJ consoles but without spending 2000 bugs. What are my options? I also would prefer to have a usb stick version that doesn’t need a laptop and that might be compatible to the pioneer file system. Is there something like this starting in the lower price digits? Where is the lowest entry point in there that is still preparing me for a club setting?

switch that's hacked can cope with so much more. a good time to buy one, rather than a smaller less powerful, cheap thing like these retro things

that's actually very true didn't want to jailbreak my switch oled but maybe I should have.

Started The Talos Principle II. Not what I expected so far, but it's pretty early.

it looks like a more complex version of portal from the trailers

Still working through the witness. Didn't give up or look stuff up this time. Thought I was nearly done, turns out there's more. Haven't found enlightenment yet.

Also this game just came out that i was keeping an eye on, might check it out:

Ultros looks really nice would be a perfect switch release but I guess the switch releases are mostly over. At least it’s available for mac as well

Just found out about all these great NEOGEO games I had no idea existed:

this a retrogamers dream. They all run on the r36s as well

  8. I find it also really interesting with ads. Instagram and TikTok are the only platforms that can offer me new products that I am remotely interested in. Instagram does a lot of drop shipping from temu where people buy a product on temu and try to sell it to me for a higher price over Instagram. they even copy the product images directly from temu without changing them.

TikTok has some products I really care for like recommending me the small portable emulator based console or weird artsy lamps. They also have a very tight collaboration so if I talk to GPT about a topic it will show a week later on TikTok or Instagram as ad

  9. yeah sure its the same with GPT they are currently burning billions with it but by integrating it into all their products the money will come back eventually

also they indirectly learn from you by scaping the data and will serve you ads to things you asked across all platforms

I was looking for something yesterday so I asked ai. It couldn’t help me and I eventually found it myself. I decided to tell ai what I was after and it basically thanked me for letting it know.
So I feel like I just contributed to ai becoming all powerful all knowing eventually. Maybe I’ll be spared when the computers take over

I use Gemini for stuff I would normally google as it was trained on google data like for products or movies. GPT works better with general topics you would normally talk about with a human. like when I am going shopping I ask it about what I can add to a recipe and even take photos of products and ask it which one is better or fits better to my dish. GPT is also very good in relationship topics or helping with music production. you can even send it screenshots of your DAW and it has very deep knowledge about all plugins and configurations. It can even suggest gear or workflow or VSTs for a certain genre  and much deeper questions about certain synth settings that are pretty obsucre

if GPT doesn't know about a topic you can upload books to it so it will look it up before answering
