    Chiastic Slide

This was the first album that REALLY got me into Autechre, like an unhealthy amount. I think LP5 is my favorite overall but Chiastic Slide will always have a special place in my heart. I still have never heard an album anything like it. The first 4 tracks are flawless, punishing beats with some of the best melodies ae have ever done. The rest of the album I didn't like as much initially, but grew on me. Hub is indeed a great track. The only track that I sometimes skip is Pule, it's a nice track, but goes on a little too long to stay interesting. But then Nuane drops and blows that shit out of the water. A classic album, probably ae's most underrated, the transitionary middle child between Tri Rep (good but sounding dated now) and LP5 (still awesome).
  3. John Tejada - Daydreams In Cold Weather Very nice!
  4. I used to feel that way about it, this took longer to grow on me than Confield. However, the album as a whole just recently "clicked" with me, which is what I love about ae. Still don't appreciate Draft as a whole but I'll keep trying from time to time I guess.
  5. I'd say it's on par with Fi, both have some weak and brilliant tracks. Quantock, Above The Rooftop, and Ffwrnais are the highlights for me A nice summer day album
  6. I loved Fi, so that's cool with me
  7. Roger, Roger, this is Floppy Jalopy, do you copy?
  8. I think it has been pushed back to March 13, but I still see March 7th on a few sites. Either way it'll be out soon, get on it Boomkat!
  9. I always thought of this as an inconsistant progression between the manic sterile sounds of LP5 and the organic weirdness of Confield. However, I dug this out again this week and have been playing it a lot, and I have grown to love it a lot. I always thought a handful of tracks were great, especially the last 4, but now tracks like Squeller, Left Blank, and Liccflii have really grown on me. The only track I still don't like is Outpt, which starts off interesting but is too repetitve and goes on too long to hold my interest. Autechre always surprise me by keeping up with my tastes years down the line!
  10. Louis Slipperz & Rawdog - Bareback Instrumentals
  11. Rob Sonic - Behemoth What I imagine a collaboration between John Carpenter and Mos Def would sound like

    ISS:SA

I love the ambient bit after the main part of ISS:SA, very eerie and beautiful

    Milk DX

I always thought that the melody that kicks in around 3 minutes sounded like someone rapping with a shit load of filters on it. Well, after having my playlist on random, this song and a Beastie Boys song were on back to back and I noticed the "rap" portion of Milk DX sounds exactly like a muffled Mike D. The inflection and style are very similar. Then I noticed that the title Milk DX and the name Mike D are extremely similar, and I know ae love to mess around with words. Maybe I'm just doing too many drugs though...
  14. Woah, where did this crazy metal cover of Come To Daddy come from?
  15. I wonder who the bleeped out artist that asked for a remix was... I was thinking Madonna too
