  1. New BOC album confirmed!
  2. I've got a new appreciation for it. Good album, but still criminally underrated. You'd need an end of the world type of situation to be able to appreciate it, I guess. ;D
  3. More tunes to play along the corona pandemic
  4. Things turned heated in this thread. Last night I had a bit of a fever. Don't think it's Corona related. No coughs or anything. But there's something under the weather. Strange situation as I now get to decide whether to turn up for meetings and all that. Skipped a diner with some old friends tonight as well. And will prolly work from home the next week. It's a bit shitty, as I know I don't need urgent medical attention and I certainly don't need to claim time from a doctor if he/she could put it somewhere else. Best thing is to keep calm and stay out of public as much as possible, I guess. And hope the rest of the world doesn't collapse in the meantime. Ozzy GP of Formula 1 is off as well. ?
  5. Wait. So you're saying your balls don't work anymore!? O_o
  6. Time for Darwin to take action! Good to have the general elections later on. Makes sure the weeds are gone.
  7. Yeah, as psycho said, this is more about making sure to slow down the spread of the virus than it is about personal well-being. For most people (roughly 80%) it will be similar to having a flu. It's about those other people and making sure the healthcare system doesn't collapse under the demand. Especially this last point seems to fly over the heads of many people.
  8. It's just a stereotype. Don't read too much in it. The fact people make a big deal about it says more about them, imo. And those same people would use similar generalisations about people who support Biden, I'm sure.
  9. Ouch! At least it's kind of amusing to see him pushing nonsense like that. Almost endearing. Like a kid doing a first speech.
  10. fixt The economy will go to shit if half the country is sick.
  11. The sad truth is that in a few weeks time the evidence will be for all to see. I expect overloaded hospitals. If not, he lucked out. If true, Trump might not even make it to the debate stage for the 2020 election.
  12. Not sure they will. Lets check back in 6 months to see who survived.
  13. @ignatiusYes, and to be fair, the same holds for Sanders and even Trump. Elections are like a longwinded shit hitting a fan. The shit flies in all directions. Not just in one particular. If you know who to vote for, you'd probably be better off ignoring the media coverage of the election at this point. The better informed you'll be. (Irony)
  14. The biggest issue, I believe, is to get people to understand there's a real risk the existing healthcare-system might collapse if many people get sick in a short period. The system is not built for this kind of peak-demand. If people are more familiar with IT, than take that as an example. Once you're above a certain threshold, the performance of the entire system can collapse. Similar to healthcare. Meanwhile, most people only take the personal risk assessment of getting seriously ill. That's not the point that's relevant (except for people older than 65, or people with comorbidities etc). If the system grinds to a halt, it's not just the people with covid-19 that will suffer. It will be anyone in need of any kind of healthcare.
  15. Holy christ....that sounds awful ?
  16. ^^^^ yeah, that's the irony, right? It's in the interest of these so-called corporate overlords to act proactive against the spread of this virus. It makes sense in terms of a simple business case to invest in free healthcare and paid leave. As opposed to the "FU, you will work till you drop dead or else youre out of a job" mentality. That doesn't make sense, even if you're one of the lizardpeople. The paper of the capitalism fanclub, the Financial Times says so as well.
  17. There'd be so many alternative universe movies about the US. What if Gore won instead of Bush? And what if Hillz won instead of Trump. I can hear some of you already thinking about a "What if Sanders won, instead of ...". ;D
  18. Dude, really hope the corona stays away from your neighbourhood.
  19. No intention to go into the electoral college discussion whatsoever. I just think it's a meaningful stat if true, anyways. Two cities. And sure, they're big. But the regional support for HRC is surprisingly uneven, I'd argue. Please don't take this from a pro-Trump perspective. And yes I understand the pro-Trumpers would love to push the narrative this way. But I really dont give a crap about which side argues what. If this is indeed what the data says, it's a meaningful statistic. Plain and simple. Not the whole story, obviously. So it's not a definitive "win the multi million dollars jackpot" kind of statistic. But a surprising one as far as I'm concerned.
  20. That HRC 2016 stat is an awkward one, i believe. I've read somewhere that if you dropped New York and LA from those numbers, Trump would have won the popular vote. Don't have the source available, so if anyone could confirm/denounce, you'll earn some leftover bonus points from the international women day.
