I watched a little bit of maniac and will go back to it but it's difficult because the influences are so strong. If brazil, total recall, black mirror, etc. hadn't been made this could have felt fresh but it's hanging on the coattails of its decades of predecessors and there is staggering degrees of familiar themes in a genre at its beating heart must thrive on new ideas. Only seen a little bit though so maybe it's a homage. But even the homages have been done to death.

Motherfucker at work dropping turds out his arse like fucking grenades. Today is the first time I've seen a toilet cubicle taped off like a murder scene. Whole new toilet having to get fitted end of week. Had trouble with this guy for years, think I've mentioned him before,usually the stench and the pebbledash splatter effect left on the porcelain. Now he squeezes out grenades which hit the bowl with such force the scudmarks cannot merely be pissed off by the next visitor. They're not even scudmarks they're debris chunks stuck.
On Friday while getting changed to leave I heard the cunt squeeze one out, a ker-plonk depth charge turd with splashback in a freshly bleached toilet. I heard screams of "agghhh, it burns! It burns!" as I left smiling. Roll on to this morning, open the door to the stench of his debris chunks on the bowl that have hardened over the weekend. Cleaners can't shift it with brillo pads, eventually some male cleaner tries to hammer and Chisel it off and cracks the porcelain. Whole bowl needs replaced now which will be very expensive. The guy is still oblivious to the damage he's done but he is getting a warning from management after this and he doesn't know it yet

Today when I was running down the street high fiving with some buzz words I was getting a lot of smiling faces and a lot of palms offered up for slapping.
"HEY" "guys" "Seriously?" "that's" "like" "great" "hello?" "guys, it's jules"
People were responding to the upbeat tone in my voice plus the body language of my raised palm as I ran past, they instinctively raised their hand with a smile on their face. Part of me wondered if I could have been saying anything and they would have responded the same.

You've covered this before a few pages ago where you said there were some discrepancies between the 4 on the clock in the different versions of Beauty and the Beast. Some would say you're running out of ideas. Others say this is yet another example of you regurgitating old ideas due to a fucked memory in a decrepit drug and booze addled old brain.

I thought that was the most subtle touch to those dark end scenes, now I'm thinking I've missed something. It wasn't the more obvious background detail was it? We have to tip toe round spoilers so even the merest hint will suffice.
