  1.

Mr Östling, would you be at liberty to tell me who is the other half of Rolando Simmons? I read that he is your brother. I would like to add him to Musicbrainz in order to credit him as a composer.

Sure, his name is Freddy Snygg!

Thanks for going through the trouble making the list. It's very helpful. If you come across anything where artist, title etc. isn't clear just make something up or write trackermatte cause that means no one else knows. As I said, I didn't upload most of these and they weren't meant to be "released".

    Many thanks!

  2. Initial data dump from MusicBrainz attached as TXT/CSV file you can open in your favorite spreadsheet app. 400 tracks exactly, all releases I know about except Neurophastic, with year, name/alias, album, track# / title, and track duration.

Some of the data here is a little wrong still, due to me doing this data entry at 3AM. Most of it has been corrected and is pending update in the database (7 day gestation period!)

All tracks listed here also have acoustic fingerprints linked in MusicBrainz, so you can auto-tag your music files with Picard. Album art is uploaded where available, and that gets tagged to your music files also.

Here's a good first world problem:

I am a consultant, I travel half the year. We consultants get picky about travel since we have to fly twice a week or more, and like to have as much control over the trips as possible. Airline "elite" benefits are important to us - free booze, shorter security lines, priority boarding, free checked baggage, no change fees, etc...

The year is almost over, I have no more company travel on the books, and I'm 5 flight segments short of keeping my Elite status for 2015. Time to take matters into my own hands!

So, to make up the missing 5 segments, I have booked a whirlwind tour:

Saturday afternoon: DEN to SLC to PHX (2 segments)

Saturday night: Use 30k Hilton Honors points (I have >500k) for a free night at the Hilton Garden Inn

Sunday afternoon: PHX to SLC to DEN (2 segments)

Sunday night: DEN to SLC to DEN (2 segments)

6 flights in 1.5 days, I'm home by 11PM, and I retain Elite status for 2015! Well worth the $300 out of my own pocket - that is less than $1/day spread across Year 2015

This sounds more like a first world success than a problem.

Both. It was, now it's not. I solve problems for a living, for when one comes along you must not let it whip you.

  4. Crossdaddy "Acid EP" 1 through 7:

Are these EPs truly only a few minutes each, or did I get hold of some teaser tracks?

EDIT: Yes, the ZIP downloads from Mikro12.com are only a few megabytes each. What's the story?

    ==============

    Neurophastic Mi12Promo:

This is the only release not entered into Musicbrainz. I am unclear as to whether this is a 'Matte album or just a MIKRO12 Various Artists compilation

I need some clarification, if possible, before I enter these to MB:

200x - Mattias And His Extraordinary Robotic Orchestra - Escape From Allum Prime

    2002 - Neurophastic - Mi12Promo1

    2004 - Cagliostro 4-4 - Compilation

    2004 - Sid Quincy - Quirky Choons

    2010 - Mattias Östling & Simon Frank

Any info on the true release date for "Escape From Allum Prime"?

Are "Neurophastic" and "Cagliostro 4-4" aliases used by Mattias, or do they signify something else?

Sid Quincy is NOT Mattias, correct?

Are all the tracks on "Mattias Östling & Simon Frank" co-produced, or is this more of a "split single"? If split, who made which tracks?

    ALSO:

"Spectoculon EP" and "Stenagan Tracks" are entered in MB even though the music is 404. Anyone have tracklisting/durations?

    1. Up until 2007 the albums were just shared between friends, who then uploaded some of them. There are no true release dates for those.

    2. Neurophastic and Cagliostro 4-4 were both track titles.

    3. Sid Quincy is me, so yes :)

    4. We collaborated on those.

    5. I know I have the spectoculon tracks somewhere. And I think they're up on last.fm. I'll see if I can find the masters.

1 - Ok, thanks. I'll leave the date in MB blank

2 - Neurophastic and Cagliostro 4-4 - I am still confused... I have releases that supposedly have those titles. Can you clarify further?

3 - Nice to meet you Sid Quincy! You and your Quirky Choons have been added to MusicBrainz :w00t:

4 - Thanks for the info, I will add the release to MB soon.

5 - I didn't find them on LastFM, but if you have the masters I doubt any WATTMers would object to their resurrection!

  8. Work in progress :) I am still working on the first 2 rounds of data entry, there are bound to be errors. Hopefully I can get a few volunteers here with MB accounts to help me with peer-review and data validation.

Fixed Nollpunkt Terminator - I am from the USA and not accustomed to DD/MM/YY (we usually use MM/DD/YY) and MusicBrainz uses YY/MM/DD.

Fixed Shadow Festival - I had YY and DD transposed

Planar Mists - I wasn't aware of this release, but just purchased from BandCamp and it is now added to MB

As for EP vs LP etc, I might need a little guidance as to which is which. But, the beauty of Musicbrainz is you can always go back and fix mistakes.
