  1. Hell. Yes. Would definitely pay a super premium price for something like this. Especially if they allowed for a few physical copies.
  2. The original Portal is also just $0.99 as well. Both are most definitely worth grabbing if you haven't played them yet.

    Warp Tapes WAV

I converted the .wav files into .flac to save on a bit of space, the mp3's in another - then, in yet another folder, I have mp3's that were converted from the .wav files but split up with the .cue sheets that I posted a few pages back. =P This entire collection is so badass - but right now I'm really digging the last half of the first part (starting around the 32 minute mark through to the end). But whatever it is at 47:15 to around the 53 minute mark [or 'track 11' if split with the .cue] is... out of this world crazy good. It's my favorite part of the whole sch-bang ATM. So great that they made these available for download. =D There are no track names in the .cue files - just 'Untitled 1' 'Untitled 2', ect...

Ha... no worries. Can't be expected to know everything about everything. =P

    Warp Tapes WAV

really. Hmm I really thought that Warp compiled it. =X thank you for the info/correction. ... Now I've gotta go listen to it tonight. Probably a good idea after hearing nothing but these Warp Tapes tracks for the last 48 hours or so anyway. =P

    Warp Tapes WAV

Yeah - just have to echo everyone else - these are so badass. It's crazy to think that some of these tracks were sent to Warp and they didn't choose them to be included on Incunabula. Some of the tracks would have fit VERY nicely in there, and possibly even made it sound more cohesive. But... <shrug> what do I know? Not like I own a major record label that's been able to sustain itself for the last 30 years. =X I'm just... very, VERY grateful that we've been given this gift of another glimpse into the beginning years of AE.

I don't know if anyone would be interested in these - but they were shared on the AE reddit subgroup... .cue sheets.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/veqkpl6vken4k9d/Warp Tapes 89-93 CUE Sheet.zip

    Can't help it - I'm a glutton. =P

    AE_STORE Is Live!

I was wondering this too... hopefully there's much more to come throughout the rest of the year.
  11. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! I picked it up about 5 or 6 days ago, and have REALLY been enjoying it. Actually, probably more than Axiom Verge ATM. I dunno, I guess I'll see once I complete it. I also picked up the early access build of Wayward Souls on Steam. I've gotta say - the changes that they've added so far make it seem almost like a sequel when compared to the state that the mobile version is in. And playing with a controller is fuck'n awesome. And I also got Hyper Light Drifter last night. Knowing nothing about it other than it being an ARPG/Metroidvania mashup, I was incredibly surprised at how good it is so far (about 4 hours into it). Chances are it'll wind up being one of my top 10 favorite games that I've played this year (sucks I didn't hear about it back in 2016 when it was released).
  12. Sorry - I should have also said that I've played Cuphead and Nowhere Patrol too... I tried to edit my last post, but I was too slow. =P
  13. Well.... I just finished off Bleed 2. GREAT freakin game! Hard difficulty is crazy good. I am now moving onto Isbarah. Sucks that it doesn't have controller support, but after playing a bit - I can totally see why. Still though - its kind of funny that I played with keyboard/mouse controls for the last 15 or so years, and after a little over a month with a controller it feels pretty strange going back to the keyboard/mouse setup. Does anyone know of some other bullet-hell/shmup + platformer mash-up games? I'm really diggin' the combination of genres.
  14. A very close friend recommended and sent me a copy of GRIS a few months ago, and today I just got a new graphics card for my laptop, so I went ahead and installed it. All I've read about it so far has all been praise for the graphics. Admittedly, I'm not a graphics whore. My top 5 games of all time are Metroid II, Final Fantasy Tactics: WotL, X-COM (UFO: Enemy Unknown), Mario 3 and Silent Hill 2. ... graphics never really impact my opinion or enjoyment. It has a sort of... Transistor vibe to it so far... but other than that, I'm not too impressed. I'm hoping the gameplay gets a LOT more interesting because right now I'm wondering if I really should have put Hollow Knight on hold so I could dive into this...
  15. LD&R :;: If you've given up before watching all of it, I'd fully recommend watching the episodes Three Robots (episode 2), When The Yogurt Took Over (episode 6), and Alternate Histories (episode 17). Especially if you're needing a little eye-rolling giggle. I've also gotta toss Alien News Desk out there. The first episode didn't impress me, but I stuck with it and by episode 3, I found myself looking forward to coming home Saturday nights and seeing it on my DVR. It's made me genuenly laugh countless times. ---it's nothing I'd ever re-watch, or buy a season of on dvd or anything... but it's definitely a highlight during my weekends.
  16. I get that. Personally, I really like it. It kind of reminds me of Machinarium. With a sort of Limbo vibe. =P And once you start opening up new areas, there's a bit of variety. Admittedly, I have no idea how much variety, as I've only opened up my 3rd area, but the atmosphere in each is definitely different than the last. <shrug> But I'll totally agree with the love it or hate it statement. I spent a bit of time reading some player's posts around the net and I don't think I found one post where anyone said it was alright. They either absolutely adored it or couldn't stand it. ATM, I'm definitely falling into the adore it camp. =P
  17. Oh, sweet! Shovel Knight's a great game. Actually played it with the Mrs. on the 3DS. One of the very few games that we've played together. I'm also a HUGE fan of metroidvania's... Metroid II was my intro to the genre, and it's still one of my favorite games of all time. Hollow Knight is completely blowing me the fuck away. I dumped another 3 hours into it today. I also read a review that said there were 6 different endings... With howlongtobeat saying it takes anywhere from 20-30 hours (42 for completionists) to beat it, I'm going to be playing this frick'n game for the next year and loving every minute of it. =P I also downloaded Eden's Aegis. I've been trying to think of the name of this game for the last few weeks or so. I'm super stoked to dive into it tomorrow. Good thing about arcade type games - you never really finish them, so you can jump in and out of playing them to dive into something else... =P But after Hollow Knight, is going to play Ori and the Blind Forest for the first time. I've been hearing about it for years, and now that I've finally got a USB controller again... I can get back into metroidvanias instead of sticking with first and third person shooters and puzzle games. I can't believe I went the last 7 years without having a controller for my PC. I've missed so much!! I'm going to have to make sure that when I buy a game, I play and complete it (if it can be completed) before buying another one and keep my arcade/endless purchases under control or else I'm going to blow through my monthly entertainment funds and never have any cash for music. =X
  18. Took a break from Crimzon Clover: World Ignition and DDP Resurrection to try and feed my metroidvania addiction. I wound up getting Hollow Knight. I hadn't read anything about it (not even the game's description on Steam) or seen any of the trailers - I bought it because it came up when searching 'meteoidvania' and it's rating is CRAZY high (36,000+ reviews and something like 95% of them were 5 stars) so I went in completely blind. My first session with it, I played for 4 hours straight. This game is MAGNIFICENT! No hand-holding what-so-ever, beautiful atmosphere, cool character designs, awesome music and effects (and the voices of the NPC's are almost always cute as hell-especially that little kid digging away in the mines), the lore that's slowly fed to you is very interesting and the controls/physics are top-notch... I just... can not talk this game up enough. I'd fully recommend any metroidvania fans here to pick it up if you haven't already.
  19. yeah twas pretty bad... =/ Just watched this with the SO... I... am torn. I respect the reasoning and desire to make it that was experienced while writing the script and takin place behind the camera - BUT... I can't count the number of times I rolled my eyes throughout that hour.
  20. Wow, this looks pretty cool... I hate to admit it, but I've never played a 3D rogue-like before... I'll have to check it out sometime this summer when I should have more time to play some newer games. =D
  21. Hah, nice! I've been playing Deathsmiles in MAME, so fun. =D It's upsetting that they're not bringing any other titles over to the PC any time soon. But these 3 will definitely hold me over when I'm craving some Cave and can't make it over to my wife's nephew's place. =P As for Deathsmiles, I previously only had it on my iPhone... but playing with a controller is so freaking smooth. I love it. I see now why people were saying that it wasn't a good choice to port over to the touchscreen.
  22. Wooo!!!! I got a USB controller in the mail today - so I wound up hopping on Steam and snagged Deathsmiles, DDP Resurrection and Mushihimesama... GAME. FUCKING. ON. BITCHES!!! =D
  23. Congrats! I’ve only recently discovered how amazing and difficult the Cave games are. I’m about to dive into this genre. Ha, thanks! If I could make a suggestion - I'd fully recommend checking out Mushihimesama (Bug Panic) - it's easily the most straight-forward bullet-hell title from Cave that I've played. The 'Original' mode is just - shoot enemies, collect gems, find enemies that you can 'grind' (by staying as close to them as you can) for gems, and don't get hit. The other gameplay modes included get more fancy with the scoring systems, but it's still probably the most accessible (in terms of getting to know the genre - not difficulty - the game can be ridiculously hard, especially on higher difficulty settings) Cave's library. Oh... and this is a great resource if you're interested in getting to know the scoring systems and just general ins and outs of bullet-hell games (I linked a search that should show most of Cave's games) - http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/?s=bullet+hell+cave+shoot-em-up Good luck! =D Thanks for the info and link! I have some experience playing Espgaluda and DoDonPachi, so I'm a little familiar with some of the scoring mechanics. I've been browsing through a bunch of Cave games in MAME to see what clicks and they're all pretty great in their own unique ways. No problem-o! I hope it helps you click a bit more with their games. And yeah... I think every single one of their releases is fairly unique - aside from sequels, of course - but even with those it seems like they expand on or change quite a bit when it comes to the scoring systems & gameplay modes. And since you're familiar with Espgaluda and DoDonPachi... the scoring descriptions on that hardcoregaming site will be a lot easier to grasp while reading (ie, you shouldn't have to jump back and forth between reading the site and playing the game while trying to make sure you're understanding everything correctly). And also, since you're familiarizing yourself with their games, if you haven't yet, you should snag the Mushihimesama Futari Black Label rom. That's got to be my favorite game in their entire catalog. Followed closely by Espgaluda II Black Label, though I'm not sure if that was ever released in arcades. But if you have an XBOX 360, the $80 purchase is TOTALLY fucking worth it. Speaking of which, I really need to get MAME installed on this laptop...
  24. Similarly with Medium - Celsius (Rebuilt By Autechre) from 7 Hills Clash - Rebuilt EP. One rip of this sounds like literal ass i.e. way too bassy & muffled (the 00:08:31, 13:0 mb one to be exact). The other sounds much cleaner & is actually listenable = (00:09:07, 20.8 mb / or the 21.1 mb .ogg). I FUCKING LOVE this track! The pads are orgasmic. I'd never heard the 8:31 rip until just now though... and yeah... it's a pretty bad rip.
  25. Just picked up Crimzon Clover: World Ignition on Steam... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyWFF1sNfKM I've heard a lot about it over the last few years, and since I had a few extra $$ this payday... figured why the hell not. I'm pretty surprised it runs on my meager little laptop. So far, I'm pretty pleased with the scoring mechanics - and the graphics are top notch. It's pretty satisfying destroying large groupings of ships and seeing all the gems get sucked up.
