  3. This wikipedia article is quite good at explaining RAW files, and this article is good at explaining the particular way in which these files are reconstructed - basically, I can use the RAW file to get you a colour image however in order to do that, the file would have to be processed.
  4. Fantastic work, oscillik. Give the guy a credit for being a great model. Thanks Jev, this guy definitely finishes the picture. But the real star is the concrete Any chance you have an unprocessed backup of this photo? I would really love to see it in original colors (even if it is against your artistic vision). Nope, sorry! I only have the RAW file, and to get an image out of that, it must be processed.

  7. Ben and I have been working on this for about 18 months. It's 80 minutes total, somewhere between 500-1000 hours to make which is insane. But it's a labor of love and I'm finally getting some freelance work from this and screenings in festivals and museums so it's worth it. And yeah these are sourced from 720p or higher this time, no more VHS. Really glad to see that you're getting stuff screened. I've put Memorex and Skinemax on at a couple of house parties, and everyone is always mesmerised. To the point where chatter stops. Seriously can't wait for these new ones to drop. Also, fucking yes! Percussion Lab site is back!

  11. yeah i was suprised! rhe lense cost me £5 on ebay what lens is it? edit: nevermind, Flickr stalked you. Soligor 35mm. I'm thinking about getting into some old glass for this camera at some point. Will have to invest in some mount converters

  17. if you can, try and have a play about with one first of course. I think it's pretty obvious that I would totally recommend going Fuji, but don't take my word for it.

  19. Omfg yes. First one for sure. All those power lines. Think I might have to take a trip into Runcorn again sometime so I can get the pylons there.
  20. the kind of films I would watch growing up, all tended to share some common thread amongst them. Ron Cobb and Jean Giraud were usually involved somehow in the design aspect, and then the same names kept popping up for Director of Photography, etc. even though we do clearly share a lot of similar inspiration, whether it's subconscious or not, I still love this thread to bits for its diversity of viewpoint. Everyone's putting their own twist on things their cameras see.

  22. I think there's plenty of talent in this thread, and it's still amazing to me that we all get something different out of our cameras. does anyone else here have trouble explaining how and why they take photos? I've had some people ask me recently, and I'm like "uh, I just take pictures when I see something I like". how do you all deal with that question?
