  1. see, that's weird, because i've worked in 3 office based jobs, where people receive mail, and we each had 2 paper boxes. one called an inbox, and one called an outbox.
  2. When I got my last update from HQ I got the sense it might be a non physical promo via download link/code. This might prove my suspicions. DO people really say "inbox" when meaning mail/mailbox? More of an email term.... Also: still nothing over here. : / people absolutely refer to a physical mail inbox as an inbox, because that's where the term was pilfered from for email.
  3. I very much doubt that Autechre acquire listeners via reviews. but I could be wrong. this is wattm nah, but reviews make people aware there's a new ae comin! good point.

  5. Yeah I seriously wonder how much of an impact this has on their sales. I also don't get why you can't just release the album in line with radio promotion. I get the impression that 75% of their sales will be fans who would pre order anyways. I'm sure if they released music by themselves, they wouldn't bother with promos. but they are signed to one of the biggest independent electronic labels in the world. and labels have a certain mentality. Warp have been forward thinking in some respects, but in this respect they're still sticking to the status quo. imo
  6. wikipedia article is definitely wrong - shows the CD catalogue number as WARPCD333
  7. I've been to a concert curated by The 'chre, and I can say with great certainty that I never experienced any of those.
  8. I bet he starts playing some Pan Sonic next, just to fuck with you all.... maybe not.
  9. Remember Draft ? Remember Confield ? Remember Ep7? Remember Lp5 ? Remember Chiastic ? Tri Repetae ? You know what these albums have in common ? They have coherence. They have what many music fans enjoy in albums: unity. define coherence. Anyone with considerable music experience shouldn't be asking that. You know, when you get the feeling that each song belongs to the same record, and not like this or that song could have been on another record. For instance can you see any coherence between "IO", "bnc castle" and "perlence" ? I can't. On the other hand, I can clearly say that there is a coherence between "VI Scose Poise" and "Cfern", and I could go on. You know, records that have a specific sound, as opposed to being a mixed set of styles. Quaristice has some of the best AE tracks ever, yet it fails to be one of my favourite because of this lack of unity. This decline in coherence had already been started with Untilted btw. I guess that's why they call these kind of statements 'subjective opinions', because I actually think there's quite a bit of coherence in Quaristice, in exactly the same way that you say there is coherence with tracks on Confield. but, WATMM....

  11. lol oh hang on, i see what you did there. that was meant to be a commentary on how Quaristice is samey, right? very acute.
  12. so you'd rather have 2 hours of autechre doing the same thing? for two hours? i really hope it's 2 hours 32 secs of Rob and Sean whispering 'kiosk', with dBlue fuckery. and then the japanese bonus track is actually the real music they made for the album, timecompounded into a 1 second blip. kind of like Cake music, only better. fucking hell.
  13. bonus XP for using the cliche of "coldest ice dagger"
  14. as I already said before, Minecraft doesn't have the monopoly on 8-bit style artwork, nor is it the most prominent and ubiquitous example. And my personal, immediate response when I saw the artwork was "oh, QR code" too... I guess what each person sees in the artwork is not a reflection of what the artwork really is, but rather a reflection of what the person is that is viewing it. i think that translates to "we're all cunts" but I dunno if that's just me? kiosk
