Walked to the store for a few groceries this evening, it was hot and muggy and this track went quite well with that vibe

Just like the "now playing" thread in Music Discussion and just as trivial/pointless. What ae track are you listening to right now, digging it so much that you just gotta tell somebody?
For me it's
Cool track.

i can pay attention to new aphex and new Ae at the same time.
We wouldn't want the literal hours of new AE to outshine the fact Richard only put out four tracks tho

Peeps is getting restless - can only imagine the hubbub if the Helsinki soundboard weren’t released*
*leaked
My guess is Ian finished his green circles awhile ago and now it's warp holding things up until after that lil aphex thing is officially out and the hype dies down. Hopefully shouldn't be too much longer.

I've probably raved about this track too many times already here, but fuck... so lush. Thanks Mike.

But generally speaking, I do believe people can get carried away with the stories they tell themselves about who they are. Or, more awkward, people with a bad lifestyle (eating habits, lack of exercise, too much social media, lack of social interactions) can show all sorts of weird behaviour. I dunno. But I do wonder from time to time. As everybody seems to be neurodivergent nowadays. It's the new normal. Bizarro world.
We live in the age of identity. Everyone seems to need to "identify as" this and that. This is where easy things to tag onto like mild neurodivergence, vague mental health self-diagnoses, various light shades of queerness and gender that otherwise ostensibly cis-het people can still attribute to themselves - all come in handy. Now I can "identify as" something! It's not enough just to have various qualities and attributes anymore, now we need labels; I guess this is a byproduct of "branding" and hashtagging and the constant pursuit of attention in a noisy world? It's as if people are afraid you won't take them seriously, take note of their special characteristics, unless they have a label for it. Yet in this way the labels eventually become meaningless background noise, and the people who legitimately fall into those categories suffer for it. I have a few friends who walk around waving the "neurodivergent" flag too, you kinda just have to go along with it though. I'm not an expert, but can't help but feel like it's just part of this bigger phenomenon I just described.

Now Sensory Processing Sensitivity tests I'm off the charts on, but that's too common to even be considered a disorder. That's just 20%-ish of the population who are congenitally weird and probably more like 80% of musicians.
cheers
Besides the featured artists, who are your faves in the genre?

Brilliant artist not mentioned yet: Loess
[This is pretty much all oldschool, but to be honest I haven't gotten into a whole lot of newer stuff in the genre, it never leaves much of an impression even if it's really good. Some of these guys are no longer active afaik]. Favourites include Proem, Blamstrain, Ilkae, Funckarma/Quench/Cane/Legiac etc, Machinedrum (his early stuff was more IDM-adjacent) and aliases, Praveen, Lackluster, Manual, Tim Koch, Maps and Diagrams, Galaktlan, Unit 21, Sabi, Aoki Takemasa, Mr. Projectile, Cepia, o9, Kingfisherg/Cupp Cave etc, Lapalux, Ametsub (great tunes, not such a great person it turns out), Dictaphone, Arovane, Christ., Fieldtriqp, RJ Valeo, Kilchhofer, Esem, Frog Pocket, Karsten Pflum, OTTO/Memo Boy, Nick Forte, Kangding Ray, Lusine, Xela/Yasume, Vladislav Delay & aliases, Oval, Phoenecia, Speedy J, Patten, OZY, Kriipis Tulo, Oberman Knocks, MD/Kschzt. Don't love everything these artists have done but they've each made a lasting impression with at least some of their material. Also don't think the obvious Mouse on Mars got mentioned yet; personally I haven't really liked anything they've done since the 90s, but Jan SW has done some pretty interesting solo stuff as Lithops and other names since then. On that note, Microstoria also deserves a mention here.
And yes FSOL absolutely.
