I dozed off in front of that Swedish AIDS drama on BBC4 tonight and dreamt that Heinrich Mueller was on Newsnight. He was made up to look White (really badly - like Lenny Henry in True Identity (Fig.1)) to argue against the "Gentrification of Electro" (his words). Kim Karli was with him (wearing a cool Legowelt tracksuit). The interview ended with a live performance of some incomprehensibly strange/brilliant Dopplereffekt material. Jeremy Paxman started undressing and awkwardly dancing with his shirt off. (7.7/10)

Does Homeland get better the further you get into it?
So far I find it incredibly boring.
It gets much much worse.
Just finished the 1st season of Hatufim (aka. Prisoners of War - Israeli show that Homeland is (loosely) based on).
Much much much better.
No plans to air or release season 2 with English subs as far as I can tell though :/

Breaking Bad is no more than silly light entertainment. It's certainly not in the same category as The Wire or The Sopranos. It's totally ridiculous and often appallingly scripted. It seems like it has been created by a team of 12-15 year old boys. There is probably about 5 minutes of genuine affecting drama in the whole series. It's addictive. I enjoyed it.

Started watching The Returned recently. Three episodes in and I'm intrigued, it has a lot of promise. Mogwai does the musique.
Total waste of 8 hours. (not including the 30 seconds or so where you see Lena's tits)

The Swedish originals are better though I do enjoy the Brannagh version. The English version's title graphics are nice.I've been watching Wallander, a detective show based on a Swedish series of novels (so I'm led to believe) with all the major roles inexplicably played by Englishmen, the lead being Kenneth Branagh. Not bad, well lensed and very slow so my wife can keep up (hehe)
