1. This thread is worth checking out: http://forum.watmm.com/topic/78372-dark-techno/
2. I didn't know any tracks in the U, K, A and C sides were presumed to be by someone other than Aphex Twin. Is this the general consensus? As far as I know, there has never been any "real" proof regarding the information who really made the tracks from Universal Indicator Green. However, to me personally, Universal Indicator Green, along with the Universal Indicator Red, sounds quite Aphexy. For me, the best "proof", as far as the Universal Indicator Green is concerned, is the similarity of these two tracks: Those two tracks could have in my opinion theoretically been made in the same session. Pay attention to the melody in the second, Universal Indicator Green track, that comes in 2:24. Btw, RDJ also played the A Side track from the Universal Indicator Green in his Wisconsin set from 1994: The track starts around 1:15. Also, my mp3s information indicates that the Morley set was done in 1992., not in 1993., as is stated on that blog. Perhaps whoever wrote that on the blog confused that set with the one in Paris Le Bourget from 1993., where that same Universal Indicator Green track was played.
3. I've had that for years; at least since early 2000 - it was on a compilation of 'random AFX' tracks that had the Peel Sessions, etc. Whoever is running this site - they're letting a lot of cats out of a lot of bags... Yea have had this one for awhile too, some swear it is some kind of work of James but I'm very skeptical and yes there are a few small things missing from this blog, and some stuff that should be removed as it is not what it claims. one thing off the top of my head that is missing is that very short clip posted here on watmm long ago which Vibert put up somewhere online, about a minute of him and Richard fucking around with their gear even tho he said it went on for hours I've had that for years; at least since early 2000 - it was on a compilation of 'random AFX' tracks that had the Peel Sessions, etc. Whoever is running this site - they're letting a lot of cats out of a lot of bags... 8. Good ol' Genesis: Also, I remember that some time ago I saw an interview with RDJ on Youtube, and in the beginning of the video he's walking through some hall, while in the background is playing The Waxen Pith. I can't seem to find that video anymore. Does anybody know what I am talking about?
9. Some wise words from Peter Christopherson (RIP): I was pleasantly surprised when he mentioned Autechre at 2:50 (Part 1). Also, to continue the Squarepusher interview series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnLsxCbF8IY&feature=related Really great interview. The part where he says he can't put himself in the position not to listen to other music is what impressed me the most.
