What high frequency sound are you guys referring to?  I downloaded the flacs from bandcamp again and I can see the files are different (different size and bitrate), but I don't hear any difference.  Maybe my ears are banjo-ed.

It's an artifact coincident with kick drum pulse, which gathering by other recent posts is at or above 10Khz.  Can't speak for the tinnitus crowd (as if they could hear me anyway), but generally seapunking it's p normal for sensitivity to higher frequencies to fall off quite significantly as we get older.  I'm in my earlymid-forties and yet it still rustles my jimmies to Koln and back, in your case I'd take it as a win.

To give an example of what I mean. In this video there really is no static time signature, but yet still a coherent rhythm

No DAW expert here, but I do play the drums; and what this guy is doing here is mostly strings of short phrases in 4/4.  What throws off and simultaneously intrigues the listener (myself included) is that he's constantly killing off each phrase, then unexpectedly starting the "1" of the next phrase (at a different tempo) to mesh with the dialogue.  So if it's this type of thing you're trying to replicate, I'd think of it more as a several 4/4 passages of varying tempo, some of which are strung together with some very ungridded pauses inserted between the stop of the last and start of the next.

This is fucking brilliant, to be honest. Took a couple of listens to properly lock into it but I absolutely love what they're doing here.

+1 this is really refreshing stuff, I liked Om Unit's recent Acid Dub Studies album and this collab is the perfect continuation of that.

fwiw i generally appreciate you posting stuff that i otherwise would have missed. doesn’t seem excessive and also easily ignorable if needed

+1, I don't mind the amount of posting either @dcom, and of course some stuff can be six degrees off everyone else's radar (insert always has been meme here), but yeah you've put me (and others I'm sure) on to some top releases I'd have no idea otherwise existed.  Plus, I dig that you're formost into the content of the musics, as opposed to the physical festishism that can override this place sometimes.

Now Troon, OTOH, was a first rate New & Upcoming Releases bellend

  4. Sorry guys, we're all just houseplants in the age of technofeudalism!

I get that it's quite dystopian in reality but I want technofeudalism to be cool b/c it sounds cool.  Like, say uniting the UR, Tresor and Warp armies with our myriad quarterhorses, lancers, bannermen and 808s and laying siege upon the great disinformation server farms of the netherrealm.
