  1. Ok, so there are multiple reasons for the way these sound The ones at 1:37 are distant explosions and if you listen to actual explosions recorded from a distance you'll hear that the majority of what you can hear is the transient and some late echoes from the surroundings. So it's way more realistic this way. I've uploaded a recording of an actual explosion for you. Also, your ears actually compress loud noises such as explosions. When an incoming sound gets too loud a muscle in your ear tightens up and skews the levers reducing their efficiency, and therefore the level entering the inner ear. So it's also a way of reproducing what it would sound like if you were actually there. Back to the transient... the transient is super important for the sound to cut through the mix, because if all you have is a boomy and subby explosion it'll simply drown under the music and the rest of the sound design and you'll end up with a muddy mix. The same goes for video games. 10-15 years ago you would probably have made a distant explosion by applying a high cut/low pass and bob's your uncle, but that doesn't really sound good. And since sound design has become more and more complex and there's more stuff going on you need to approach this in a different way. I hope that makes sense ? Expl_distant_DPAA4061.wav
  2. I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle.
  3. Oh, that's definitely a thing here and has been for years. Pretty good for late night nasty ass pizza.
  4. Do you mean the sound of the rocks and debris during the last explosion? Or is the transient in the far-away explosions? ?
  5. Damn, Andy.
  6. I fucking nailed the the pizzas tonight. I tried using less flour than normal. Once the dough was ready I rolled up the pizza balls without using any flour at all. It made them way more sticky but also easier to handle for some weird reason. Instead when it was time to flatten the pizza balls I threw them onto a plate full of semolina flour. Semolina flour doesn't stick as much to the dough as normal tipo 00 flour and it doesn't burn as easily which means that the dough didn't burn as easily and it also made the crust more crispy. Fuck yeah. The winner pizza was a tomato sauce (homemade), mozzarella, salsiccia, red onion and truffel oil pizza.
  7. Reaction thumbnails on Youtube are killing me
  8. Just don't interact with anyone and only follow people you find interesting or funny. Oh and use Tweetbot so you don't see what people like and actually get things in chronological order. That's my approach and I kinda love Twitter.
  9. I hate to be that guy buy... Simon Stålenhag much?
  10. Did the sound design, some chanting, and mix
  11. Teaching my girlfriend how to do sound design and she’s fucking nailing it.
  12. ^That's me playing that fucking game. Fucking witchcraft. I tried that cave like 10-12 times. Then at one point I fell off that wooden structure near the entrance and got attacked by old men and rats.
  13. Thanks, man. Is the easy cave near the lake the one with all the miners? They fucked me up.
  14. Someone convince me to continue playing Elden Ring. I've spent 2 nights playing it and I don't feel like I've made any progress. EDIT: I've just spent 3 hours finding cave after cave, monster after monster that fucking annihilates me in matter of seconds. I'm missing something.
