I'm telling you right now, this is real and I have nothing to do with this. i don't know, i may need to listen to on speakers because because headphone listening for me gave me the impression it had mediocre mixing/mastering All the versions of it combined really entrance me. I don't know why, I just really like Quaristice. Initially, I hated it as it was the first full album by Ae that I heard, but as I listened more and more I'd just skip songs I didn't like, then I stopped finding songs I didn't like and now I do marathons through it, Versions, then the EPs and don't regret any of it. If I had to specifically pick out songs I like, I'd go with rale, IO, Phylopn, Plyphon, IO (Mons), Steels, Perlence range3, The PlclCpC, and so many others. @_@ Even if this leak is fake, which I really don't think it is, I still like it. I'm probably blinded by fanboyism though, since I entirely think it is Autechre and love their stuff. Hey, you seem like a cool person.. so please dont take this personally, but if Quaristice was the first full album by Autechre you ever heard, its very difficult for me to take your opinion seriously.

I really think hearing this in its wav file format will change people's reaction.

Okay... I'm going to go on the record here... If anyone thinks this m4a single track promo is even remotely fake, you havent been listening to Autechre. Ever. Period. It may not be what you want right now, but it will be what you need over time. If you're bitching today, chances are you bitched when Confield came out and Confield is now one of your all time "favorite" albums. So, in closing, just shut the fuck up and wait for the wav files to be properly released before you give up on this. PS - Quaristice still sucks

Well thanks, but I dunno man... making such a stark (and negative) judgement call on this is like making up your mind on a film shot in the theater with a shaky hand-cam. We can see what it is, but our experience is already a shell within a shell away from the real deal.

I am. From what I can tell so far (after only a couple listens) this album isn't about rhythm nor melody. It's about voicing. If you listen for only melody it's going to sound a bit aimless and meandering. If you listen for rhythm it'll sound simplistic. If you listen for voicing and counterpoint it is a very sophisticated album. That's just what I've got from it so far. If it turns out to be a fake, I'll be glad to have downloaded it before it gets forgotten. Ditto. You're so fucking on point with this "read" on the album. The rest of you guys are probably listening with a pre-determined filter/bias. Autechre is not going to release supercomplicated shit just to be supercomplicated. There's a larger purpose to this album, which I can say Untilted and Quaristice strayed away from achieving. Allow them the chance to prove there is a method to their madness.

Autechre are great song writers who write distinctive, engaging songs that I love to listen to again and again and again, and this applies to everything they've done, even the stuff I'm not fond of. I don't like Plaid. I like see on see. I'd like to hear it again. I also like ilanders. I'd like to hear it again too. I am frankly amazed how quick people are to proclaim their love for anything Autechre-like. Proven to be wrong, in: 5... 4... 3... 2...

HAHAHA... Robbie- Our public disagreement is going to make people think we're playing good cop / bad cop and pushing our own leak, version 2™ . For me, its all about mood with Autechre. It always has been. I look forward to the day when we get beat fuckery ninja sauce once again, but I am absolutely okay with this album and the mood it sets. It feels much more deliberate, thought out, and genuince than Quaristice. PS - I wouldnt call this album ambient. It's brightly organic, but not ambient. Certainly a mood setter, but maybe not trying to invoke peacefulness like most ambient records do. Haunting. Yes, this record is haunting. But then again, I like Tim Hecker.

This leak made me do several things: - Immediately go to bleep and preorder the actual release. - Seriously consider upgrading my operating system and my license to max/msp 5 - Anxiously await any recording / news of their upcoming tour, what it sounds like, etc Fuck, 2010 is turning out to be one of the best years in a long time.

Yeah, this has been severely transcoded and run through iTunes automatic crossfader.

You know what's great? Remember when we were listening to the Glasgow 2005 soundboard recording at 128kbps for over a year and then we heard the 256 version and everything opened up? The same thing is going to happen when we hear the wav files of this. All the distortion and clipping and muddiness will be gone, and this will be 10x more immersive. would pay for your stuff. well ok, i wouldn´t pay, i´d steal it, but your tracks would be definitely in my heavy rotation.
