actually just wondering - anybody else from australia able to download their pre-order from bleep? i pre-ordered the album minutes after the album was revealed so wondering whether that has more to do with it. oh, and opinions on the album after a good 6-7 listens now: when i first heard Reach For The Dead I was of the common opinion that the track was brilliant but too short; just as it is building up it ends. My first listen of the new album made me think the same of many other tracks on it. The whole thing works brilliantly from start to end though; the more I listen to it the less it matters. I can draw some parallels to some of my favourite Autechre tracks where increased auditory memory of the song through its various stages seems to build on the enjoyment of it. i'm not sure one can rank it as "better" or "worse" than their classic albums. it's very, very different then their previous work and that's an extremely good thing. i was hoping for a dark detailed album and this most certainly delivers that. very happy.

bleep appear to have the album available for download now, btw - i am downloading it now (I'm in Australia and it's 2AM June 6th, unsure whether that's only for australian purchases or not) and yep, mp3 only :(

Stupid idea, but maybe the album *is* available for early download; they were doing obscure things hiding content in various files in the ARG... Does anybody know how to ascertain what the hell the ID is for a bleep.com album? Here's an amusing concept - I've lurked on WATMM for at least a decade and this community is still as great as it ever was; arguably due to this community being fairly small. Much electronic mainstream music in 2013 is clearly very influenced by the artists we have long loved. BoC haven't been in the limelight for 8 years. Their music is very accessible compared to the likes of Autechre et al. Warp aren't some obscure record label anymore, particularly given their diverse artist lineup now. And they're definitely not fucking about with marketing for this album. It's entirely possible that this album, if it is as brilliant as we're all hoping, gets more mainstream attention than any previous album. This means more hipster BoC fans, and WATMM is the first place an onslaught would flock to... OH NOES

I liked some of BT's works way before I got into IDM, so the music holds some kind of nostalgic value for me. I remember being introduced to his music by some televised interview, though, where I became fascinated with the intelligence, obsession and detail he portrayed as a producer, but I was like 12 at the time so who knows how bloody accurate that really was. I do remember "This Binary Universe" being introduced as some kind of genre-changing IDM mega album and having major lols when I heard it for the first time, though. Probably the best description I've heard of BT are that his albums are more demo pieces for his production services/abilities...
