they doing totally insane things like using real instruments and playing disco?that Todd Edwards dude is a piece of work.

Funnily he's the guy from records of whom Burial learnt his vocal chops, if I'm not mistaken. The chops that, needless to say, overruled the popular electronic music world. Edwards sounds like a bum in a limousine compared to Moroder and Rodgers.

for real? that is very interesting. he came off as someone who didnt know much as a producer. who doesnt know you multitrack instruments in a studio? i havent played anything since the alto sax in 8th grade marching band* and i knew that.

*drunken drum machine and pots and pans jams not withstanding

  2. Strom is everything I wanted out of this album based on the samples and it delivers in that realm very nicely. Having not listened to much else by Uwe other than "Wellen und Felder," I'm not sure I had any preconceptions as to what I was expecting. It does have a lot more pop and rock sound to it than any of the samples hinted at whatsoever. I think my only complaint is that it doesn't seem consistent in how the tracks sound, but maybe that's kind of the point. There's probably something for almost anyone on this album in some way. The tracks that pander to my tastes are Strom, Riding the Void, The Sound of Decay, and Ich Bin Meine Maschine.

  3. I love Strom and Ich Bin Eine Maschine. Pop and The Sound of Decay are good. Otherwise the rest is bobbins, especially I Love U, which is dire. Shame really, they put up the best bits in the samples. Now I've heard the stream I don't want it.

What stream do you speak of?

  4. i sure hope they continue the trend of the cover art of their studio albums: just text saying 'daft punk' in their font, but presented in a new way

Yeah, that was always a nice trademark. From the looks of that little 15 second clip, it seems they're keeping it that way, which is great.

i hope they dont care for money and release an album that sounds like their old stuff / like the stuff they released via crydamoure.

i just want house/french house from them, so i hope for collaborations with fred falke, dj falcon, alan braxe, play paul, people like that.

Bits of this sound a whole lot like an early version of "Around the World."

  5. They're pretty obviously voices aren't they? Sounds like a muffled newsreader or something... unless you're talking about some other noises.

I've just never heard them before. They sound very far away.

  6. Can anyone else hear voices in Ipacial Section starting from around 7:30? I believe all the distorted and muffled sounding bits after 8:15 are possibly voices too. Weird

  7. Sometimes, in social settings, I can't tell if girls are flirting with me or playfully teasing me because I'm game for silliness.

Once again, I am afraid to take this test.

I'm afraid to take it too. Just looking at it, I was pretty overwhelmed and didn't know where to really place what I thought the eyes were conveying. :(

  8. I got a 22 on the Empathy one and a 57 on the Systemizing one. Paired with my 29 on the Autism spectrum one, I don't know.

I really like science and math and that's what I'm majoring in at university, so I feel like there's a correlation to that with the systemizing one at least, but don't know/can't say there's a causation in either direction (I like hard sciences because of where I am on the spectrum/I'm at that point on the spectrum because I enjoy hard sciences).

I always have had trouble with eye contact though. It makes (and has made) me really uncomfortable since I can remember (late 2, early 3).

I think its very gender bias, I dont see why a more scientific mind is necessarily a more male characteristic thats only what society has restrained our thinking as.

    I agree with this.

  9. I like the way the things in the tracks we've heard so far that are reverbed. It's usually something in the background that seems to groan or creak that let's off a lasting air that slowly fades until another takes its place. I also like how some sounds in the background grow. Those are the things that have reminded me of Oversteps/Move of Ten the most so far and I loved the way it was done (such as in os veix3, Cep puiqMX).

Is it okay to make posts where I don't shit on someone/something?

  10. not to be a huge downer or anything but it makes me wonder if these are the 'best' tracks from the album and that's why they were chosen for radio play, while they are good tracks they aren't blowing my mind as much as the stuff i remember coming out early for Quaristice. I remember Simm being one of the earliest tracks from Quaristice to leak, and it's definitely one of the album's highlights, while great tracks like the Plc and Chenc9 were never broadcast before it came out.

edit: but at the same time 'see on see' was the first track from Oversteps to leak and imo it's one of the least interesting from the album

Yeah, and ilanders. I think, in retrospect, ilanders gave a good summary of the vibe of the album, but wasn't by any means my personal favorite.

I'm hearing a lot of Oversteps in tuinorizn and I like that. It's a neat track.

I love all of Autechre's opening tracks on all their albums, so I'm really looking forward to FLeure.
