  1. yeah, i noticed the tracklist is the same 20, but on the left it says 2 bonus tracks as a special feature.
  2. the japanese edition is out on feb.27th, a week earlier than the uk edition. also appears to have 2 bonus tracks, just hope theyre better than the bonus track on untilted. http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2677834
  3. as for as that tracklist goes, maybe it is'nt a double cd, instead something more like the gescom minidisc style of tracks running into each other, and varying in length. as for the artwork, i dig the overall design with the spaced out typeface, but would prefer another colour instead of the light blue.
  4. as an ae addict, my wang is fully activated by all this news...but, BUT...im also a bit paranoid. i cant help thinking that after an unusually long wait (3 years) for a new album, then the fact that maybe its a double cd, i'm really hoping it isnt them "bowing out". probably just paranoid, but......
  5. yeah, thats the cover of lp5. the LP version is a grey card cover with autechre emossed on the sleeve.
  6. thats interesting, i never knew that the confield artwork is from a larger, animated piece. i dont really dig that particular cover for some reason, so id love to see it in a bigger context, maybe id appreciate it more... confiled and lp5 covers were designed by autechre themsevles.
  7. i'd really love a decent scan of the covers for desktop wallpaper...totally dig those covers.
  8. very true... autechre used to do a release year with an album, and a double 12" ep, and the 2 formats always related to each other. like say, tri repetae/anvil vapre, chiastic slide/envane, lp5/cichli suite..... they dont seem to do this style of release anymore which is a shame.
  9. its says "mechanically reclaimed" on the 12" pair of records, not just the cd, so yes, i think it is saying that they are remixes, or at least sourced from other stuff. tilapia is a brilliant track. plus the artwork is really beautiful i think.
  10. i saw him and lesser play in belfast years ago...really insane drill n bass from lesser, slower gliched out stuff from kid606. i prefer his mellow stuff like the soccergirl ep and ps i love you.
  11. they said in an interview (the wire's invisible jukebox yonks ago) that they got into computers with chiastic slide. before that they had been mostly using hardware, albeit in an original way. but i can really hear software at work on chiastic slide, lp 5, ciclli suite and ep7. i also read once sean saying he went to math class (this was around '96 or so), so I'm guessing it was to help with programming. so i reckon between max/msp, reaktor and fm7 and their nords, this is where their sounds came from. but its cool that they've sort of turned their back on software since releasing untilted, totally hardware-driven live shows. Ae can make Ae-music using whatever they turn their hands to.
  12. it ceratinly was for tom york et al. weet abix, i was like you regarding lp5. at first i thought it was "Ae lite", but then i had a totally out-there experience involving magic mushrooms and lp5, and now i love it! especially drane 2, one of autechres saddest tracks. sad as in "boo hoo" sad, not "poo plop" sad.
  13. speaking of chiastic slide/visual images........ does anyone have a good image of the cover of this most rad album? just thinking that would make a kick-ass desktop wallpaper, and im in the mood for a change.
  14. chiastic slide is easily my fave Ae album. i still get goosebumps half way through cipater when the beat signature changes and those lush keys come in. awesome. plus nuane is an absolute crunchfest delight. plus, the best artwork of all their releases, i think.
  15. i really dig it. its easily their dirtiest release production-wise, but this is no bad thing. it has a really live and direct quality that reminds me of their live sets from around this time, when they were improvising with software a lot. its a limited pallet of sounds but wrung though the ae process to good results. also, the 1st track totally reminds me of arch carrier from lp5, only less crystaline.
  16. ive got most stuff on original, minus the legofeet 12" and 3 gescom 12"s. my faves (simply due to them being the real thing) are the mail order only 12", ae keynell mixes, and basscadet remixes 10" boxset. also the music fairly rocks...
