not a vst i but the prophet c64 tb-303 is wicked it 100% 303 progammable style and sounds alot like a real 303 if it was 8-bit

Prophet 64 is a series of synthesizer software for the Commodore 64. There are currently three editions, all MIDI compatible via DIN-sync (like the 303/606/808 etc) finally making it possible to use the C64 for contemporary music.

This site contains all info to get the Prophet 64 up and running whether using floppy or tape. Instruction manuals also cover building sync-interfaces to hook it up.

Actually, it is so easy that there is no excuse for not taking out the old boxy thing of the closet, dust it off and join the 21th century S.I.D. revolution right away!

Phoscyon

It is really cool and is a fully functioning demo you just cant set it to external sync or something and you can't use it for more than an hour at a time.

lol wtf

I had a look into tonight. Essentially with all the costs required, it'll cost around £100 at least to get the thing midified and working. Its seems like fun and is the closest thing I've found to get the old beast making music but for £100+ I don't know whether its worth the hassle. Its more an aesthetic and touchy feely thing. I am interested though. If C64 could be controlled via a midi controller and knob twister then that might be interesting. Am certainly going to load up the software for starters just see if I can get that to work.

Ah, that reminds me of my K station, but I left the power supply at my mate's house last night after having a SYNTH JAM. Good fun though!

the audiorealism bassline will never be a tb-303 it will never sound like a 303 or perform like one

but it is the only software 303 to look into getting just for the fact it has the original 303 programming methood, which i think is good,

Quick, someone make an acid line with the Audiorealism VST, and then make the same one with a real TB-303, post both wav's, and see if Smoj can tell the difference.

unfortunately i think smoj is one of the only ppl here who actually has a real 303.

i reckon the plugin sounds pretty fucking good, ok so it's clinical and noiseless but to my ears its very very close and totally acceptable for wee fannyabout acid tunes.
