Fujiya Miyagi - Ankle Injuries

and lots of Blur

*considers mentioning "Leisure" in shoegazing thread*

(actually, I'm listening to Techno Animal - Re-entry (brutal, oppressive slow industrial/acid/dub/instr. hiphop/ambient from '95 (think a more hypnotic and grueling ISDN by FSOL) from a duo including Kevin Martin aka The Bug (compiler of Ambient 4: Isolationism and member of GOD and Experimental Audio Research (drone supergroup also featuring Kevin Shields, Sonic Boom (from Spacemen 3/Spectrum) and AMM's Kevin Provost (with no link whatesoever to Sunn O))))))))

*thinks about that for a while*

oh! I see! Really!? Awesome! If you haven't heard it already, I command you to listen to EAR's "Beyond the Pale", it was recorded in 1992 but wasn't released until '96, that's the album with all the players I listed above on it ... it's probably my favourite Spacemen-related album, which is saying a lot.

(Say, did you hear about "Gaye Bykers On Acid"'s LP "Drill Your Own Hole" which quite literally required the purchaser to drill a hole in the middle of the record, where there was none, in order to play it on their turntable?)

RE: Spectrum - hell yeah! I love the album "Spectrum" by Sonic Boom as well. (confusing naming system akin to John Zorn releasing a solo album called "Naked City" and then subsequently forming a band called "Naked City"...) I've only given Spiritualised a cursory listen, but haven't so far found Jason's post-Spacemen direction as gloriously mind-rending as Sonic's .
