I just thought about something. In "Cape Fear", De Niro's tattoos were all real but they were done with a vegetable based ink that would degrade in a short while and after his flesh healed, there would be no permanent evidence. It makes me think that some of these "too good to be true" internet tattoos are using that technique. However, you can just seem to "feel" the ones that are true and permanent white trash fabulous.
