Rieghtous Babe records has been around 4ever...but this is an interesting idea. i feel these kinda labels pigeonhole the artists tho. WEll righteous babe is more folk type music, but this just seems to be , if you're a girl you're in, which is good in many ways, but eh....

I would have a hearty lol if "syntheme" were on it tho. Lol goon should do it.

is this like one of those 'girl-gamerz' things? whats the deal with "VIP members"

From the site:

"It's free and allows you to receive special benefits including access to exclusive content from our artists such as additional photos, video, free music downloads and VIP discounts on store items. VIP members are also able to contact our artists through private messaging, friend connections and comments. Think of it as an exclusive private MySpace or Facebook."

seriously just change the name of the label to 8x10 Records, cos there's got to be more posey publicity shots on that site than in the rest of electronica combined

Sadore is an American cross-genre, industrial experimental music project formally created in 2006 by Emily Steigerwald. The project name was inspired by dancer Isadora Duncan and her contributions to modern art by way of improvionisation and emotional form.

what is improvionisation? is that a women's thing?

I can't tell if u are being sarcastic, but I'll respond as if I'm a curator of knowledge. (lol)

In this meaning of the word it implies "dancing" to music or whatever the person chooses to dance to [possibly in reponse to a painters brush strokes as they paint a picture that the dancer responds to]. It's basically dance that is "free form" or without choreography, but not just flailing about like you would at a rave or such, you use actual dance moves, techniques, styles, etc but typically cover many genres ie: mixing ballet with hip hop *shudders*

ps - hip hop dance is ruining cheerleading. that is all.

It's supposed to be empowering but I do think it is a bit separatist, but most labels are in their own ways, just not in reference to gender. I don't think Death Row would've signed Vannila Ice for example.

but yah *sigh*

i googled "improvionisation" and the only hit was this thread.

how is it you are able to write a paragraph defining this non-existent word?

they edited their typo. funnily enough, i googled it before posting to see if it was some secret women's thing that only isadora duncan, fem records and brandi b know about , and the only hit then was for the FEM records page. they must've been reading this. secondary cell probably has something to do with the label.
