Yeah bronchuseven is your go to guy... if he doesn't reply, my suggestions:

I have a book called Practical Origami by Rick Beech which is an excellent beginner's book, and has some moderately advanced stuff in it. It's REALLY varied which is awesome. A quick search isn't getting many results so maybe it's out of print but he might have written a similar book.

Try to get her something with modular origami cos I think it's the most fun and rewarding kind.

If she's REALLY good, there's a book called Origami for the Connoisseur which I don't have but looks really awesome, and is recommended by a lot of people. It's all really advanced models though.

thanks to this thread, I've started making one of these:

My book has instructions for that, but I haven't attempted it yet (mainly cos it's not made from squares, I'm too lazy to measure and cut the strips myself :P), but I have made one of these:

Also I did this too:

That is the actual one I made I mean...

Yeah the actual pyramid things are easy to construct, but I haven't quite figured out where to squeeze the third one into the mix. I assume once you get past that problem then its fairly smooth sailing until the end. I made my pieces pretty wide so there probably isn't enough room to fit six pyramids inside of each other.

yeah PM bronchuseven if he doesn't show up here. or you could ask springy, who apparently is a hallowed master of origami.

^That's probably my favorite thing to make.

I have a bunch of Origami books in PDF format if you want them, it might be cute to give her a flash drive full of origami.
