Hi WATMM. I've made music for a couple of years now, and today I'm putting my electronic album up for free.

I'd appreciate any feedback you guys can give me on it, and I'm thankful for any feedback at all.

I do hope it's constructive and helpful though.

The album is mostly ambient, but there are also hints of breaks/industrial in there. However I'm not to hung up on genres.

You can get it here if you like: http://adore.bandcamp.com/album/emotion-ep

All the best!

A'

You got some stuff on your face.

Seriously though, was a bit too sentimental for me.

No worries, it's not for everyone.

couldn't help but  at both the words adore and emotion in one artist/title combination. will not be listening based on this.

Thanks... You have been very helpful and kind.

I actually listened to some of your stuff. Halogen was okay, the rest was not for me. I think you should work harder on the beats. They were very repetitive, and could have been better in terms of frequency. Also your melodywork is very simple. But I do see potential in your work.

don't patronise me mother fucker

and stop being so butthurt

clearly you have no confidence in your own music if you cannot even take a criticism on your name.

I've used Adore as my gamertag some times, many assume it's a girl's name. A friend recommended me to use IDM style (acronyms) titles on songs and names, but it's not really my thing. I'm not trying to patronize you. I apologize if I offended you in any way. And yes, I have no confidence in my music, I think that would only hold me back.

Being constructive is not patronizing someone, it's giving them your opinion about their works. Facepalming everything is a waste of our time. I would love to remix Halogen.

I haven't listened to this new release all the way through yet, but I have heard some of your older releases, & going off of those I will echo the general sentiment that you use too much sentiment. In my opinion emotional music works best if the...um...emotionalness of the song isn't the main driving force (or if it is, that song is put on an album with mostly less overt material). Like, I dunno, a seemingly goofy song that has a melancholy melody hidden under the layers of madness, or a song that doesn't really get heavy until the end. I like that sort of stuff. Feels more honest to me. When it's heavy melodic pads & serious titles all the way through it just feels a bit cheese to me.

But like I said I haven't heard all of this new stuff yet, so maybe you have some hardcore funk breakdowns in there or something.

Thank you for feedback. I can see what you are saying, the album gets more neutural later on though, and eventually has it's uplifting moments. It tells the wordless story of basically being alone and that there is hope of being redeemed. I made the titles that way to tell the story that was in my mind listening to and making the album, it was not to emphasize on depression and sadness. I think many of the latter songs in the album can be very uplifting, at least to myself. Maybe it's too sentimental for some though, I get that...

Thanks again, this was very constructive :)

thanks man. I apologize for last time, and I've listened to your feedback. I should note that this is not a new album, but a release that has not been shared on these forums before and that I'm giving away for free today. A new one is in the works though, and I'm taking all your feedback into account in future releases.

'One more chance' is fantastic. Perfect length.

edit: I really like the first track too.

+ Music is nice, good work.

Wow, memories in time is great.

Thanks guys, very glad you like it. Forgot the blurb was still on Bandcamp, most of it has now been removed - thanks for letting me know.

Loved it. Can't understand the hate. So what, you like to put story to your music, and your music isn't happy or ambiguous, but I like that. It feels personal and exposed.

Thank you very much, it's great to see someone who likes, let alone the music, but also the story and concepts I try to create. Much appreciated.

This is the crap I was talking about. Listeners dont care about your story, they want their own. Unless its blues, you should make a blues album.

I agree completely. Electronic music tends to speak for itself. I don't think people are necessarily against the idea of adding theme, story or context to your album. You can be as creative as you want about how you present your material. The problem people have with the way you present your music is this:

"Running in sadness, like a symphony of a dream. There's homeless children around, struggling for survival. You want it to all be a blur of past, and try to focus on bright moments. But you'll always have memories in time, where you were abandoned, and struggled in the search to belong - it's in this moment you hopefully wake up, and remind yourself that you were given one more chance."

This is one of the most hackneyed, trite pieces of shit I've ever read. Being abandoned? Struggling? Homeless children? Feeling like you don't belong? Are you fucking kidding me? These are things that I thought of when I was twelve years old and subsequently got over them, grew up a little, stopped feeling sorry for myself, and started thinking about other things. People don't want to listen the sentimental ramblings of someone who is emotionally immature. It's embarrassing.

With that said, I'm not commenting on your music, only the presentation of it. People don't want to wade through a pile of shit just to get to your music. It will turn people away before they even hit the play button, as it has already done to others in this thread. It's just something you should think about. One of the main reasons I listen to electronic music is because I don't want to listen to somebody bitch about how oh so sad and dismal everything is. If that's the message you're trying to get across, your music alone should say it.

let's give watmm's official punching bag a warm welcome back with a kick in the balls. i don't get you guys, so critical of the person behind the music. who gives a fuck? really? this idea that every artist has to be cool and mysterious like aphex twin is kinda just playing into pop culture. i'll remain neutral on what i think of iadore's personality, let's stay on point. i think the music is nice for what it is, it's not meant to be an acid album, the guy just wants to make some nice atmospheres and melodies. nothing wrong with that. in fact a lot of this stuff would go good as a soundtrack behind a movie i think.

to paraphrase: fuck tha haters, write what you want musically and in text, you are the artist, you are god of your expression. and to the rest of you, take it or leave it.

I skipped through most of the album and listen different parts of most it. its all pretty well made, good production throughout. Some of the tracks seemed melodically like they were building up to be much more exciting than they ended up. A lot of it feels like it's dieing for more dynamics and progression because the melodies really make you think your gonna hear a roller coaster but you don't. I mean that in the best way possible that the tracks leave you expecting more is definitely better than saying the tracks were boring or made me just want to turn it off. Work on dynamics, add more variables to the equation, bring things down to the depths and carry them to the sky. Again your melodies are great, some of the sounds were kind of cheesy in my opinion but its nicely polished for sure.

I definitely agree that your song titles/album and artist name is going to turn A LOT of people off. I really don't think any of them are helping you at all.
