Final Fantasy 14 - online

i've never played an MMO before; stood by and watched all of my friends go thru their WOW addiction, and it looked more like a 2nd job than fun.

this seems different, limits you to 8 hours of play time per job class a week, i love the FF online art style, and you have a unified login, meaning you can switch between PC and PS3 for the same game save, which would be one of the reasons i would buy a PS3, along with the upcoming Studio Ghibli game.

is anyone else here considering it? seems like an MMO for a more casual gamer, and console types.

As a former FFXI addict, I can attest to the fact that Square didn't pull any punches when making the current iteration a grind-fest. It WAS a job, but when you're a a lazy middle schooler, that doesn't matter too much. I stopped playing Freshman year of HS when I realized that it was getting ridiculous and I was simply getting addicted.

Quit XI earlier this year. Too addicting. Got a beta invite for XIV that I used only briefly. That was sometime in July, so I've no idea how the game has progressed, but at the time I was less than impressed. I'd never played an MMO before or anything else from SE, so XI has become my standard for anything of the sort.

And, you might be right about it being more "casual oriented," especially after hearing about that per job class play time limitation. Is there still no form of passive MP regen?
