VHS Head's Sample Spotting

even though the Jackson link is completely redundant, I found something a little bit... puzzling.

in the track DPP39 has these light, eerie chords in in the background. They come in about 40secs in.

well, I could swear they are the same chords from this:

which was a one off side project Jackson did before Smash. I don't know if its a sample of Panash, and if it is I don't know whether it was intentionally aimed to those who thought it was Jackson. Or maybe I'm seeing similarities that don't exist, but I think its pretty intriguing.

still want a second opinion on this.

Sorry if somebody already spotted this

I was watching Demons ( 1985 ) last night and I noticed the theme song is quite similar to ''Growler Spit You Out''

It's that weird metallic synth sound .

0:18 - 0:29

Even the drums sound similar .

That percussive Demon noise is definitely used in Growler Spit You Out, as well as Death Dimension and the song after it on Midnight Section. I think that the sample saying "we've got 30 people out there killing 20 and 30 people each" is from Cannibal Apocalypse, but I haven't watched it since listening to the album.

I previously posted this in the "Midnight section" thread but think it's worth posting in this thread which is better suited. Also because I've got a few more things to add!

The opening jingle in "Midnight Section" is sampled from the Intro Ident from the UK Video company EIV. It's messed about with throughout

but you can hear it at the very start and at 1: 01 to 1: 02 most clearly, repeating through the rest of the track. It's about 8.26 into this video.

Hopefully this should clear up this question!

From 2:13 to end of "The Violent Breed", he samples an interesting conversation.

e.g. at 3:20 - "The new criminals have been so brutalised throughout upbringing that they seem incapable of viewing their victims as fellow human beings.."

Great track as well -- anyone identify this lengthy sample? Sounds like it could be from a sci-fi film of some sort perhaps

To me it sounds like a sample from a documentary about serial killers.

It is indeed from a Serial Killer Documentary. This one. About 1.07 in.

I think that the sample saying "we've got 30 people out there killing 20 and 30 people each" is from Cannibal Apocalypse, but I haven't watched it since listening to the album.

It's not from Cannibal Apocalypse, it's actually from the same Serial killer Documentary above! Around 1.18 in. He certainly got some mileage out of that one. : )

Good job , my son ! I watched Cannibal Apocalypes last night and I couldn't find it . I never saw the movie before , but I knew it was going to be genius once I found out John Saxon AND Giovanni Lombardo Radice stared in it ( Giovanni is the fucking man in Cannibal Ferox ! ) But yeah, I thought the sample was from Henry : Portrait Of A Serial Killer .

Apparently this sample has been used couple of times . Tech N9ne ( yes...Tech N9ne  ) also used it for the track Mind of a killer

DIdn't mean to lead you astray with Cannibal Apocalypse... I thought I remembered that line from when the police were going after John Saxon and his gang, but clearly my memory failed me.

Is that killer documentary worth watching?
