Or you could always use the wonderful extension HTTPS everywhere made by the folks over at the EFF in combination with the tor project.

Additionally, if you're concerned about privacy there's a good firefox addon called better privacy which is useful.

"https everywhere" only works on sites that provide https support on all pages. most don't, unfortunately.

Most of the social networks do luckily, just not by default which is retarded.

In any case as usual, you can always make your own ruleset:

overplay seems to be having some issues today. Things keep having to buffer. Maybe it's cause it's friday night or something so they're getting hammered, but it's still it's gay parade.

if i was using this in starbucks and i had winpcap installed, what posible reason could there be for there to be no capturing going on, given that the starbucks were busy and maybe i could see somebody definitely using, say, facebook for instance, at another table???

Your computer may have a crippled wifi card. Not all of them can enter promiscuous mode.

Find out what wireless chipset your laptop has, google the model number plus "promiscuous mode".

Also, you probably need to run everything as administrator.
