Hi all, longtime reader, new poster..

I'm traveling to Europe and the UK (from Australia) for a while and just wanted to know clubs in London or surrounds that regularly play good acid techno or hardcore? Any recommendations where I could catch braindance to breakcore or styles in that vein? Or any other tips would be great..

Cheers!

The Ginglik on Saturday nights is brills - http://www.ginglik.co.uk/

Every night in the club is a completely different genre (from rock, to stand up, to funk/soul, to independent cinema) but Saturday is general underground-ish electronic music and the last Saturday of each month does an I

Fabric saturdays is good for techno... check the lineups though as they do vary a bit. Sometimes you get the harder techno in there (ive seen Jimmy Edgar, Ben Sims, Surgeon etc in there over the year).

Keep an eye on sites like http://hyponik.com/ for the underground club nights.... let us know when your gonna be in London and ill keep an eye out for stuff?

when will you be in london? there might be some good one off events, i know theres a oxide and nutrino & tempa t night coming up but it hasn't been confirmed :fear:

the alibi can be good, i saw dmx drew dj there and another time saw dj champion, both fantastic nights, but like it sounds, it entirely depends on the night as they have real shit there too.

wifey is a good night for a 2-step type stuff and funky

ritmo was good for house and some acid but it hasn't been on in a while

girlcore is good for attractive girls

edit: good link feltcher

Thanks for tips guys; I'll be in London mid June til end of 1st week of July. Will be heading to Cornwall in late June for a few days too, if you have recommendations down that way.

Glad to say I'll be seeing aphex at forbidden fruit and sonar; and wireless too hehe. Last time was Melbourne '04 with Luke vibert!

Resident Advisor is not a bad place to look either if you know when you'll be around.

Things tend to move around, you have to keep an eye on it all to find what you are after but here are a few places I would look.

XOYO; not wild about the venue but lately they have huge events on http://www.xoyo.co.uk/events/

Electrowerkz, don't seem to have any sort of website these days

Plastic People; http://www.plasticpeople.co.uk/

Corsica Studios; http://www.corsicastudios.com/index.php/june-2011

Your main chance for catching any music in the west is if you stop by Bristol which isn't a bad idea anyway.

I don't go clubbing anymore, but when I did this was my favourite.

Also SE1 and Jacks at London Bridge, dunno if Jacks is still open for bidness though.

I went for the first time in years about a month ago and its changed a lot. It was split in to two events that night and I was just downstairs, the music room down there was the same but there was a whole new room with a bar inside an old tube carriage and a DJ in the drivers booth. It was cool, just slightly less grimey than it used to be... you used to go in with white shoes and come out with them black.
