finally my style : TechnoDrone

i think it's got some potential for sure...the sounds are interesting and kept my attention but i was hoping for possibly some kind of rhythm to come in, maybe not a standard rhythm with drums, perhaps just some bleeps and stuff but in a repeating pattern to give the whole tune a kind of groove template for the listener to get into. i didn't like the saw-type lead sound that comes in every now and again - seemed a bit pointless and not part of the rest of the track. it's cool that you're developing your own style though man and i think your techno-drone thing could be pretty cool with a bit more structure and groove.

@BCM: i don't know about rhythm. maybe something slight like you say but nothing too drastic. id feel like thatd pull from the overall feel.

i would bring the bass up a little though. its a little drowned out by those glitchy scratching sounds. and i agree about that saw, its not really adding anything right now. maybe you could add some reverb to it or some delay. id also increase its attack. having it build up instead of just popping in would give more feeling, which is very important in drone type music. overall, this is pretty interesting and id continue to go with it. finding your own sound can be very hard for a musician. good luck!

I like the added layers of sound but I wish there were more special moments like 2:34. that part is cool as hell. it sounds like the track breaks down and reboots.

The sounds are interesting, but as the others said, the saw-like synth is a bit bland.

I don't have a whole lot more to say. The ideas are cool, the sounds are cool, but I feel it needs a few more stand out moments and some adjustments to that synth.

i tried to insert different rhythm lines, but the result was to mechanic. I like the rhythm derive from the main sound.

i can't/ i don't want to bring the bass up. the main sound is so complete. it has loud bass, gaudy midrange and glitchy high midrange. all the other sounds must be just a completion. maybe you're right about the reverb and the attack.

thanks.

as you know, i always use few stand out moments in my tracks. because the result must appear a bit hypnotic that ( i think) is the main feature of techno music. anyway i know it's very difficult made a track like that without be annoying after 15 seconds. i made this track to work well on the dancefloor. after that, i think you can move a bit your point of view.

about the saw-like synth.....i just like it. anyhow i take note it didn't successfully.

Ok, so I know you've already said that you didn't like it when you added a rhythm/beat, but the track needs something to help it make progress. I've used this example before in another thread about another track, but I'll use it again: If I walked into a room while this track was playing I wouldn't know if it had just started, was peaking or was about to end. The build-up is pretty much non-existent.

Also, it wouldn't make me dance because I wouldn't know what to react to.

This is awesome! I would go crazy on a dance floor to this. Might be cool if u add some drums or at least some distorted and warped rhythm heavy thing

i already answered to you about that in the last thread, i guess you didn't read it. the track doesn't need to progress. i'm trying to avoid the classic scheme "start-peack-end". i think that these kind of tracks can have a dignity even if it remains at the same intensity, because it is privileged its aesthetics instead of its trajectory. you can't bring all styles under the same paradigma.

I think you need to get the fuck off your high horse mate. why post a track if you're completely unwilling to take any criticism and are going to spout "art" nonsense when trying to justify what is clearly an extremely amateur and overtly simple track which anybody with a couple of VSTs and a bunch of pirated FX could knock up in 5 minutes. I think everybody has tried to be very tactful, mindful of your feelings and encouraging and your replying as if you're fucking Brian Eno. ok I'll lose the tact - your track's shit mate, the saw synth you used is fucking laughable, the track doesn't go anywhere or have any point, you talk about it being "for the dancefloor" - a spacko having a fit in an earthquake couldn't dance to this drivel.

just my 2 cents.

Well, I did like the track. For real. I don't get the whole dance thing, but as an ambient track I think it works, though there's still room for improvement.

But jeez, that whole art thing, as BCM said, is getting a bit much. If you don't want critizism and just want people to listen, just say so.

People are not posting in here to piss you off, but because they spent three minutes of their lives listening to your music, and wants to help you make it better.

it wasn't my intention to result so arrogant. i never spoke about art, and i don't use FX/VST. i'm trying to understand if is possible to create something out of scheme following my instinct. shit..i think electronic music is just at the beginning, infinite roads could be pursued but all you guys made music without a personal idea, just try to imitate idm artists. of course i'm an amateur, but i'm also a musician with own idea.

I think people get that, but.. I know English isn't your fist language, but you should probably try and be a little more careful with what you're posting on here. That post is hella rude.
