the blithering heights (?)

Like it a lot, it was nice. The soft sweet melody with the cool skittering drums worked well. Though I would've preferred if that sample went away when it did the first time, when it died down.

I think I should take a look at the sample volume automation again, i'm not satisfied either.

edit: thanks!

Pretty nice track, yo. I do like the futbol sample even, which makes it feel more like "this is an ambient track". I especially like the melodies going along with the drums and that clickitty tiks stuffs. My main crit is that the main melodic themes feel so ready to explode into a bit more. Like after a few minutes, some lead melody and string could totally go over the top of the current main meloz. Ooh, man, sooo prime for a lead melody to go over the top and lead the listener into thinking that the futbol sample means something deep... Like at around 4 minutes- are you kidding me?! Could totally kill, yo.

Anyhow, thanks for ze audio fun.

Agreed. So much potential energy waiting to be released here. Start off slow, ease in, explode. climax. calm exit.

Is it just because of the title of the track that I might have been looking for Kate Bush influences and found them? I can hear em though. Reminds me of some harmonies from Night Of The Swallow, same kind of rythm too. Nice piece, the slowing down and speeding up are a nice idea. The synthesized melody sound is really nice and punchy but soft. The football sample didn´t bother me so much, but I preffered the instrumental version.

I'm afraid i don't know what you're talking about, but thanks for the input, I suppose i'll check her out. on a side note i just discovered through school that there's a novel by jane austen called the wuthering heights, might have subconsciously heard of it or something.

A bit somber for me personally. I can however appreciate that you're pretty gifted even though its not really my bag. Sorry. :-)

Yeah and Kate bush made a song of the same name, you´d probably recognise it when you hear it, it´s been played quite often, or maybe just mainly inn England I don´t know.

Hey guys I don't mean to bump this, but I got some new speakers and i realized there's this horrible crackling sound in both versions of the track, mainly in the first part (before the drums kick in) and in the last part (again before the drums), and it seems to coincide with the bass hits. The weird thing is that: a) on my old shitty speakers I couldn't hear it b) i think the mix wasn't clipping c) when the drums kick in there is no crackling whatsoever.

So I suppose my questions are: a) can you guys hear it? b) what do you think the problem is and c) why does it seem to happen only on good speakers/headphones?

I'm really still a noob on the tech side of things so I'd really appreciate any sort of help.

Can't hear any crackling.

The better your near-field monitors or headphones, the more truthful a signal they should transmit (at least as far as studio equipment is concerned; hi-fi gear is often designed for "better" rather than truthful-to-the-source sound).

Hi and welcome to this subforum!

nice track you posted, it's well articulated and very pleasant to hear. I think I know what you mean when you say it could have sound cheesy (I occasionally make some attempts for melodic / beatless tracks with simple synth sounds and end up wasting the track with cheesiness most of the time). I think you avoided that well and kept it very decent (I'm mean it's not too much).

Keep up the good work!
