    Anecdotal stuff that doesn't address any fwp:

     

    There's a lot I could say about LA, growing up an hour outside of it in the "Inland Empire". A lot of stories, lots of trips there.

     

    Saw AE there twice, Richard Devine, and loads of other bands.

     

    I will never move there, for various reasons.

     

    Took my wife to see Interpol there about a year ago, got stranded in Chinatown for the night. it was interesting how kind of vacant and in decay that part of town was. So many empty buildings, and one building with nothing but various statues.

    There's an ice cream truck somewhere nearby, and it's making the rooster VERY ANGRY!

    Also it's teasing me.  I'd definitely buy an ice cream from an ice cream truck if it were visible to me, but I'm nowhere near motivated enough to go for a wander around the neighborhood in the hopes we may cross paths.  Now I want to know the name of the famous old timey song it's playing on loop, but it has no lyrics so how am I supposed to look it up?

    The motherfucking daylight saving time bullshit.

    Every fucking year it's a minor crisis I don't recover from for at least a month.

     

     

    I think the trick to adjusting is to simply embrace it. Stop thinking about what time it actually is and just go with the new time.

     

    But i totally agree, fuck daylight savings time. I got to remember to take that whole week off from work next year so I can properly adjust.

    I used to listen to We Hate Movies but that grated after awhile. I think to host them you need to be a bit of a cynical dick, the one they done on The Running Man was fun though.

     

     

     

    Really like the idea behind "How Did This Get Made?" but can't stand the insufferable hosts.

     

    Any recs for podcasts talking about bad movies?

    There's one called The Flop House, but only listened to a couple episodes ages ago so can't really comment on the quality.

    homeless again, feeling embarassed more than anything really to still be repeating this pattern closer to 30 than 20

    hoping this will be the push i need to finally leave the empty life i live in this city & go out & explore the world & make something of my life beyond "quiet guy who makes a lot of ambient albums". kind of a pain that it's happening in december on the verge of months of true cold rather than say march, but thats the way the cookie tears
