  1. Knowing Kubrick and his disregard for movie stars, i, too, see their couple in Eyes Wide Shut as another masking layer. The film is stunningly beautiful. I don't think 90s or 80s or 70s or 60s have anything to do with any Kubrick film post-Strangelove. You can call Clockwork Orange cheesy, but i think it was made to be extremely cheesy even then. Others are stylistically out of the flow.

  2. A caper comedy that follows the travels of an old man who always ends up in convenient sitautions spouting shit one-liners in front of superheroes.

Like "i'd fuck her right in the pussy"

God in his cabinet. A god-looking person sits in his paradise cabinet and tries to fulfill wishes of people begging for God's assistance. Tits are delivering them to him. He only makes it worse everytime. He ends up giving up his asshole to devil to fuck.

  3. Thanks for suggestions. The video dead, Shock waves and ...of the Comet are sounding new to me. Cemetery man i heard of, but haven't seen. Since it's by italian author, it could be nice looking. Seems like everything WATMM-approved is based on the ridiculous approach, which is fair.

Like amen lare was perhaps suggesting. Zombies were ok until the got rediscovered, it sort of ruined any past fondness you may have had for a genre that didn't consist of many films and those films were two dollars and a roll of duct tape affairs where you kind of just watched for the warm feeling of giving those plucky underdog film makers a go. I fucking hate zombies nowadays, was never my favourite ghoul but god what horrible things to base a film around, make them stop, they just relentlessly keep coming.

My problem is that fondly remembered old-school Dawn of the dead is often called either best or second best zombie movie all time and i'm like fuck? Such sloppy edited and shot, not in a charming way. Night of the living dead i can live with.

Actually, i searched for best-of lists and predictably there is a large amount of such made. Of the recent ones three flicks caught my attention. Deadgirl for zombie necrophilia concept, Pontypool for zombie outbreak without zombies on screen and norwegian Dead Snow for nazi zombies. Saw last one out of morbid curiousity and it's another ridiculous take to which i'm immune.

really disappointed. i thought i was going to get into this, but i found it to be a clumsy mess. it goes from people trying to do a news report about zombies to suddenly arguing about doing the news report before a bunch of cops bust an apartment building (?) where one minute they're shooting puerto-ricans and black people to suddenly burning zombies then mumbling about feeling guilty about killing the zombies before some cop is shot....

    boooooring

Spot fucking on. Remake is better by miles and it's not a particularly good movie. I have a warm heart towards zombies from before the hype, yet i seriously struggled to find a somewhat cool movie on the subject. Is there a relatively obscure tolerable zombie film out there? Messiah of Evil is kinda neat. I guess italians like Fulci must have made something cool, but i'm a bit alienated towards old school zombie make-up.

  5. it's not the disliking it that bothers me its the assuming that your opinion is a fact that does

or, given that I should be aware that each post is an opinion, it's the sheer arrogance of asserting something as crap when I don't think people have the right credentials to do so. it is more appropriate to say 'I don't like this and here's why'

Maybe it's you who's assuming such things. Facts are presented in a specific way and "this is crap" very rarely hits the spot, as well as other basic expressions, it's metaphorical language from the start. It doesn't even mean that you don't like something, the same way some people tend to like "sick" and "bad" things. There are no right credentials to use it, if you are bothered so much by a stranger's use of words, then it's your duty to ask him why he thinks so to make conclusions. Above you've written his opinion off right away with "who the fuck are you" attitude, which is no less arrogant, given that music producers and critics are crap 90% ot time and having such credentials means nothing.

  6. btw, wasn't it a completely sean's work? i could swear that i read that in some interview

Reading too much ae interviews can result in thinking you are Sean (klang)

  7. Slow Acid is pure fucking ear candy.

Truth, the definition of tasty sounds, kinda too tasty, to the point of gluttony. Best Gescom track for me anyway

  8. after a few listens i still dont see what the big deal about brownout is

It's 00s thing, the beautiful death of idm, you'll catch it soon as a part of idmwave source

  9. I am surprised at the absence of critical opinions on Wolfgang. I was a big fan of his production of mid-to-late 90s, then he took control of emerging Kompakt label and quickly burned as a producer. That Kompakt was really a technopop consortium, a sort of what was electroclash for electro, la dolce vita days. If i'm not mistaken he returned to releasing after almost a decade of hiatus. Gas was immediately overhyped and pompously re-released, and Wolfgang began to build on that reputation, thinking he still have that minimalist touch he was known for. Aged master at marketing of techno who's doing "art" like in the old days (when it was fresh and thus considered arty afterwards), hence Klavier and Kafka in titles. No offense to current fans, but fuck him.

  10.

It's false dichotomy, you hear what you're inclined to.

If you mean this as a reply to our "headphone-mix" conversation then I think you are wrong with this one. I strongly believe Exai has obvious headphone-mix properties and problems (I am not saying it was mixed completely on headphones).

If that was your reply to somebody else in the thread, then ignore my post, please.

Yes, it is a reply. Well, the problem is it's you who believe, so it's you who should have some, well, reasons other than speculation. Do you have an experience of creating tracks that sound like Exai? What i believe is that there is no headphones nor speakers in this music, it's like thinking about headache the writer must have had.
