    Funny Autechre Stories

    I have two anecdotes of oral discussion of Autechre.

     

    Years ago I've been discussing music with my co-worker after finding out that he's familiar with Aphex twins and stuff. I would go like, do you know Autechre, and he's got no clue, i go, you must check Autechre, it's wikkid, A-U-T-E-C-H-R-E, man. I'll start describing it, he jots it down, and then asks me if i knew about that video he saw, with industrial shit object moving and morphing, and i'm like, Gantz Graf? Where shit moves and morphs like that (pantomiming video)? He's like yeah totally dude, and i go like, this is Autechre, man! He jots it down. Next day he tells me how he asked his girlfriend about Autechre and she replied "have you forgotten that we've already listened to Autechre together, they're the pioneers of IDM, you stupid".

     

    Then there was this guy who was selling off his entire vinyl collection because of existential porblems. I'm not interested. He appeals to me by PM, telling his life story and how he owes me shits in music listening. He wanted to give me his Oversteps copy in honour, which was the latest release back then. I go like, nah man, i don't like this record all that much and have no record player.

    I suspect this EP to not be harsh or brutal (not that i find spl9 or Meshuggah harsh, where are you, in IDM first grade year?). The only track rather clearly referenced is deco Loc thus far. From the example of Ts1a and T ess xi sound link (and supposed lo-res blade filter in max) we learnt that tracknames may have technical origin. It would be curious to compare these pairs

    Track 04 is called "autechre - newbound"?

     

    Are we supposed to read into that?

    mp3 files are named like autechre - newbound.mp3 lol

     

     

    Ae sent it like accurately tagged .wmv files, like yo Steve, check our porno, and then Warp extract audio from there.

    so not just sean's new career but autechre's?

    It's always been their career and project Autechre is just a masking unit. Anti EP was actually a business move against police at rave market.

     

    More specifically the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, Paragraph 63 Section 1(b) -

     

    (1)This section applies to a gathering on land in the open air of 100 or more persons (whether or not trespassers) at which amplified music is played during the night (with or without intermissions) and is such as, by reason of its loudness and duration and the time at which it is played, is likely to cause serious distress to the inhabitants of the locality; and for this purpose—

    (a)such a gathering continues during intermissions in the music and, where the gathering extends over several days, throughout the period during which amplified music is played at night (with or without intermissions); and

    (b)“music” includes sounds wholly or predominantly characterised by the emission of a succession of repetitive beats.

    no shit, its was 1-1 with 10 minutes to go, why are people complaining? the only option was to tackle.

     

    If i were a Croat i would be annoyed at the manager for allowing 9 men to attack a corner (with 10 minutes to go and a man up)

     

    Probably they were decidedly going all for the win, because the second place is reserved for them and Belgium was up 5 points.

    i wonder if rob has ever had to create a resume or cv. if so, i wonder if he wrote anything about lush pads, like "1989-present, lush pads."

     

    That is funny, i laughed good 11 seconds to it, if to count intermission, like there was a second laugh, firstly intuitive, then rational afterlaugh. In short, ALOL.
