  1. What a bunch of bullshit. Didn't realize I was gonna pay almost 17,- for an ep that doesn't have one of the best tracks on it. There's plenty of labels putting out great sounding records for reasonable prizes, even double ep's if necessary.

Maybe these quality control issues are worsened by the volume of records that need to be pressed for a major release like this? Is it easier to realize quality products for smaller runs?

  2.

I really dislike how they don't just tell you what this is. There's three posts in the devlog, first one saying they added polyphony, and the other 2 are super specific about the oscs and a clipboard. Going by the slick slightly soft focus photo's I guess it's a m4l based virtual modular? (disregard, didn't read the sys reqs)

The supercharged name Alpha Forever conjures up images of vaporware and it also reminds me of Dubturbo.

This kind of promotion makes me wary, like if this is how they launch their shit how reliable is this going to be in terms of documentation, future compatibility, updates, etc?

Oh, they posted a video on twitter.

Ah, it's very slick and has about the same amount of info as their website. And it's really fucking loud.

Sorry to bring this negativity. Ugh.

  3. Rented a small studio space for super cheap but now I have no idea what to do with all the extra space in the living room. Moved the couch to an optimal listening position but now there's this weird bit of room leftover behind it. fml

Definitely had a heavy goth phase but moved on to multicoloured nail polish pretty quickly. By then aphex was already deeply embedded within me and my life. So deeply. Embedded. Within.

  4. I don't get it, it's non working so how is it "an enduring piece for the true coffee enthusiast"?

It's an oversized piece of crap that's of fleeting interest to windowdressers and merchandise morons.

Coffee's good. Bout to make some, my brother got the beans, no idea. They're tasty though.

  5. Threw out my back yesterday doing a deadlift, wasn't necessary at all just didn't pay enough attention. Had to get someone to cover for me today as my job involves quite a lot of heavy lifting, which sucks because it means I don't get paid and I hate calling in sick.

On the other hand I'm now in bed with some oxazepam, tramadol and a white russian so it's a bit of a double edged sword.

Thanks, will have to look at this later. Is this about dc coupled soundcards?

Just barely missed a 25,- local money unit TMI, a simmons trigger to midi converter.

Didn't really think about this until I saw this being offered but this would be super handy to get really tight external drum sequencing as you could use your soundcard to send triggers to sequence drumboxes etc. Is this a thing people do or am I overlooking something here? Seems like a good way to get tighter sequences if you're unable to afford a multiclock (and it doesn't seem to correct notes, only clock, so if you'd want to sequence from a daw then you'd still get clock jitter?) or something similar.

Not sure about this. I think a trigger to midi converter is handy for hooking your piezo drum triggers to EZDrummer or some VST so that you can DIY your own digital drum kit.

As for tighter drum sequences and jitter, I think the TMI is going to have orders of magnitude more latency issues than dealing strictly with MIDI, because in the case of the TMI, you always have to convert audio into a MIDI message which means you have both audio latency and MIDI latency. RSP shared some really good information about MIDI timing stuff in this thread https://forum.watmm.com/topic/95499-midi-over-usb-am-i-doing-it-wrong-or-does-it-really-just-suck/

Cheers, the tmi actually adding latency was my biggest questionmark, for some reason I thought having a dedicated box doing the conversion would lessen latency but I guess it's a slow 80s box that doesn't exactly do instantaneous conversion. Read that topic but a lot of this stuff is hocus pocus to me until actually trying things out I guess.

Sold my minilogue, think I'll reinvest the cash in a multiclock and use the internal sequencers on my machines as much as possible. Very curious how things will pan out.

"Omnibus Babylon EP" coming later this month.

Out Now: Legowelt – Omnibus Babylon EP

Rising Sun Systems – Oberheim Space Vinyl Re-Issue

Besides the Omnibus Babylon EP on Clone Records September will see the first vinyl re-issue of the 2015 ambient RISING SUN SYSTEMS – OBERHEIM SPACE album. Original released on my Nightwind Records it is being re-issued by the Australian Solander Recording Company on 2xVinyl with new full colour artwork. In Europe available at HVV amongst some other stores and in Japan at Disk Union.

Ah, I'm definitely picking up the oberheim rerelease, kind of wished he'd kept the original artwork though, much prefer the black cover to the new one.

Was going to order one of the shirts but clone's shipping is just too much for me (think I complained about this before in this thread, sorry about that).

Got his amateur space jazz on a whim a couple of weeks ago, mostly because it was only 15 euro's and the artwork is fenominal (?!), didn't listen before buying and it turned out to be so much better than I expected. Really solid album with great atmospheres and things to experience.

  9. A river gives no fucks, it takes shit from no one.

I was going to post an image to illustrate this, but the captions that went with all of them mentioned fatalities, so I decided against it.  Proves my axiom tho.

I'm pretty sure most rivers take quite a lot of shit.

Isn't the mouth the place where the river flows from? The mouth of the river drinks the water from the ocean and spreads it around the countryside so people can do their business in it which emanates from the bum.
