  1. Damn, Sony sneaking in a deep 303 acid bassline in last track before the PS5 stream begins HERE WE GOOOO
  2. That was wild. Recently Beat Saber has a similar feature on PC that generates a custom level based on any track you input but it's not available on the PSVR version and since it's a VR game so you gotta have a bunch of unique peripherals to even play it. This is Hideo Kojima's favorite game. Really good shit and super cinematic for a sidescroller. Not too long either so it's pretty easy to play through in a few sittings.
  3. The turboGrafx-16 looks wicked. I'm curious if the price will drop; I picked up my PS Classic for $20 after it bombed but Sony set that thing up for failure by making half the games their 50hz PAL versions for no reason. But yeah...I'm DEFINITELY up to my limit on emulator boxes lol. I've got a nice little mini-setup with the Genesis, NES, SNES (modded) and PS Classic (modded). Honestly could just emulate everything on my PC but I love to tinker with these things. You're in for a treat if you're just now discovering the PS1! That whole generation gets a bad rap for being the first to venture into 3d but there are some downright beautiful and imaginative games in there. I've had so much fun finding all the stuff I missed. Chrono Cross FFIX Legend of Mana Megaman Legends Vagrant Story
  4. There's also a Cowboy Bebop game that's pretty good. I went through much of the absolutely massive PS1 library putting while adding games to my hacked PS Classic last year and came across so many insane titles I'd never heard of back in the day, many of them with killer 90s breakbeat soundtracks. I was really impressed. Vib Ribbon (Soundtrack for this is getting pressed on vinyl at the end of july lol) https://www.minimumrecords.net/shop/vib-ribbon iS Internal Section LSD Dream Emulator FUCKING PEPSIMAN
  5. Nah, they're the heroes of the story. I'm just another NPC hunkered down in my underground shelter ordering shit online. When I get a delivery I shout "thanks Sam!" at the retreating figure and quickly pull the goods inside as the blast doors slam shut.
  6. Three new Luke Vibert albums in May/June/July, PS5 reveal possibly happening in early June, TLoU II release mid-June, Ghost of Tsushima mid-July... Summer is looking really fucking good at this point aside from Death Stranding having become a reality and all.
  7. Fuck yes! Goddamn. I CANNOT WAIT. Vibert out of nowhere just saved summer. Gonna be blasting this while playing the last big PS4 games of the gen. Wish I'd nabbed that colored vinyl bundle O.O oh well
  8. mothafuckin hells yeah my earholes are ready ya'll 727 looks so weird sitting next to cs80 in a gear list lol
  9. Sick. My cassette bought on the bleep store came addressed directly from mr. Aphex Twin who (after a little expert sleuthing on my part) apparently lives in a nondescript office building in the middle of an industry park in North Carolina.
  10. Lol at the 90s ravers just discovering footwork. Shit's the most interesting thing rhythmically to happen to bass-heavy electronic music in the past decade and it's been influencing wider artists at least since Machinedrum - Room(s) in 2011. It shouldn't be surprising to see RDJ still exploring and applying his mastery to new genres as he's done countless times before. If you can get past the abrasive vocal samples used as percussion in the earlier footwork releases, turn up the bass and give it a chance. Required listening: Bangs and Works vol. 1 & 2, Planet Mu DJ Diamond - Flight Muzik DJ Rashad - Double Cup Jlin - Dark Energy and Black Origami countless Chicago footwork battles on youtube
  11. Mental. I can hear Jlin / footwork influence. Rapid-fire percussion all over. The pitched sample tweaking is next level shit. Wde variety of delays and reverbs getting dropped on particular sounds in the mix while others are left clean. Pthex brought the acid, yay. Is the shouting dude at 00:50 in 1st 44 from the same source as Mangle 11? First listen had to be a quiet one since my wife is sleeping and I'm wearing open-backed headphones. Gonna blast it tomorrow.
  12. I'm kinda glad I missed the hype on this one. I'm cool with waiting a couple weeks for release and don't really have any desire to seek out the leak.
  13. Cool, I just ordered a cassette and CD from the web store. I'll try to find some random record store on google for the special edition vinyl if it doesn't pop back up at Amoeba or Bleep.
  14. Fuuuuuu. I preordered on bleep and nabbed it there (luckily) but I was planning on getting a 2nd copy at amoeba... but I slept on it. Yeah, I guess I'll just Google around until I find a record store that has it up for preorder and have it shipped to CA. But that's kind of a bummer Amoeba looks like the only place in southern California that has it for sale.
