  1. Living in te upside down part of the world has its challenges for being online ;p
  2. Sorry to hear that. I hope things turn out better for you. Hang in there.
  3. I liked this part: Ego has mandates, I understand.
  4. I made a joke? What? Perhaps you should just lighten up if you think this was disrespectful? Never meant to be disrespectful in any way. If taken that way, sorry. And yes I do think things are taken way too seriously. And now I have fallen into it myself as well. Thank you very much. On topic: Prometheus.
  5. Just seen it and thought it was quite enjoyable. Perhaps it's not as classic as the first Alien is, but if the story in the next part(s) is going to pick up, it might be. The story certainly feels unfinished. But if a next part doesn't deliver, the disappointment will be big. To me anyways, because it is suggested David knows almost everything one is supposed to know about the Engineer backstory at the end of the movie. It'd be hard not to give any answers in a second installment.
  6. Why? I think it's pretty amusing. Especially when thinking only half of the participants have actually seen the movie (haven't been counting, but the idea is painfully realistic). Of course, it's exactly as they say in those half-in-the-bag reviews: on the internet the fans will always find something to complain about (and thàt's more about giving relief to their horrible day-to-day lives than about the thing they complain about…). disclaimer: i belong in the half who haven't seen the movie yet ;p disclaimer2: There's still enough valid points being made though. It isn't all blind fanboihood complainery. (this post is not an attempt to indirectly attack anyone....apart from the trolls who haven't seen the movie) disclaimer3: which i'm one of...
  7. Seeing the amount of discussion this story gets, I'm seriously wondering wether it is as bad as people claim. The discussion speaks volumes, so the speak. Even more than the sentiments perhaps. *continues to hug my face*
  8. Some people will respond with criticism any time. Just like there are people who can get angry at just about anything, or can be positive about anything. It's the type of glasses they're wearing. Just accept it. There just happens to be an awful lot of 'critical people by nature' in this place. (I'm trying to bring this as neutral as possible.)
  9. LOL Prom is getting good reviews on this side of the pond, btw. General consensus is the second part of the movie feels rushed, but the first half is excellent. In the second half the action pushes the story to the background....reviews say.
  10. This. And not just because it's a good movie with a relation to the story, but also because it will be the definite reference to which Prometheus will be measured. IMO, a big part of whether Prometheus will be a success (in a non-financial sense), will depend on how good it fares with respect to Alien.
  11. So you implicitly acknowledge that for a noob (someone who hasn't read the leaked plot) the trailer just looks like a bunch of explosions and some other SF things? Isn't that what a trailer is supposed to be? Showing people what they can expect? I'm seriously wondering whether all these rants are made by people with (obviously) a lot of background knowledge about the story, but who can't empathize with the people who lack that knowledge. Which just happen to be 95% of the people who are going to see this movie. You know, the masses. For the masses these trailers are good. For the noobs these trailers tell enough about what they can expect, in a way where it raises more questions when it comes to the plot. The fact that some people have read some leaked plot disqualifies them to have any judgments about the trailers, if you ask me. Especially when they have lost track of the noobish mindset of the masses. At least, that's what it looks like to me. And given the relationship with the Alien universe, most of the plot shouldn't be a surprise anyways. It's a scary sci-fi movie with explosions. What do you expect?
  12. This thread has delivered on all kinds of levels. Thanks guys! This version of Heroes sounds so much better than the one on the compilation.
  13. O Lord Blankfein, I could go on and on...
