A Scanner Darkly is my favourite PKD novel as well, glad to see it getting some love round here.

i'm glad i pushed through with Yakuza 0. finished it today after around 40 hours or so. the story and characters are enough to make it worthwhile although everything else is janky as hell. might pick up the remake of the first game sometime.
next up i have Hitman. hope it's deec.

i watched Solaris (Tarkovsky) t'other day. good shit. really liked the shots of Solaris/the ocean, wish they showed more of it.

Yakuza 0 is an odd one. the main story is okay but everything else is pretty poor. it feels like a clunky PS2 game and not in a charming way.
i keep seeing people saying how great it is so maybe i'm missing something. i'm not giving up on it quite yet, i'm not far so hopefully it gets better (just got to chapter 3).

i have Red Mars which i'm yet to read. i've heard good things but it's a weighty tome and i haven't got in the mood to invest the time into it yet.
i've just finished The Western Lands by Burroughs and completed the trilogy. imo this was the weakest of the 3 and the most difficult to read. still a good book and i'm sure it'd sink in more after a few passes, but when the other books in the trilogy are as strong as they are i can't see myself returning to it any time soon.
i'm reading Solaris now which is a lot easier to read - breezed through more than half in a couple of days.

i'd say it's worth it. i haven't played the Switch version but the original had me hooked for a long time.
i wouldn't say it's a novelty game at all. it was actually a well made and original fighter and one of the funnest i've played to be honest. i'm annoyed that they never released the new fighters for Wii U though.

chapter 2 of MGSV is kinda dumb. they should have just added a few more story missions to wrap the story up in chapter 1 and then had the extreme mode missions as post-game content.
i brought Hitman and Yakuza 0 so i'll pick one of those up after i finish MGS.

the best episodes we're the final few (though not the final episode) and they were also the most cohesive. i loved the whole thing though.

@bechuga - have you played the original Nier? it's a wonderful and weird experience. just be prepared to encounter one of the worst quests in modern gaming (the fishing one. absolute nightmare).

Yakuzo 0 is one of the games i want to pick up now i have a PS4 but it's still a little expensive.
after 3 false starts/resets i'm finally getting into Nioh. quite the learning curve to it. decided on an Axe/Sword + magic build. one thing about this game is the sheer amount of shitty drops enemies pick up. i spend way too much time trying to manage my inventory just for it to swell up again 5 minutes later.
i've already put around 30 hours into rocket league as well. i think i have a problem.
