as far out as far-out gets, grip everything you can,,,,,ultimate space-swing excursions also have a nose for the 1974 film he did for Space is the Place,,,,actually here it is: http://www.veoh.com/watch/v683427yKejB2KR
  3. the news of impending David Lynch films used to be fairly regular, so such a long sabbatical as its kinda been means this is all the more saaaaaaafe there was all kinds of meddling with the last show, hope the guy gets a clear run
  4. maaaaaaaaaaaan the next 3/4 months are gonna be a blast, and from one particular end quite literally lolol
  5. nowt personal but its just another whodunnit, except Gillian is a beacon of utter fuckability compared to most detective shows its all British tv is good for currently. The Fall & Broadchurch both skate these surfaces
  6. Possession (1981) ......warped disturbing tale of a marriage in meltdown, where for plot-spoiler aversion you could say the wife might be harbouring a few secrets. Isabelle Adjani goes deep end while maintaining next-level goddess edibility http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082933/ twelvety/10
  7. Rashomon - rewatched again on a chunky dose of codeine this afternoon......shit hurts not for pleasure in itself what a film and a some of the best story-telling, its shot framing, the characters,,,,absolute zero fat on it too, succinct and delicious 10/10 Performance ......hyped but worthy of the praise. The array of gangsters in itself is a work of art mixing menace and comedy, aswell as a last look at a London lost to time. James Fox is really good considering he's a bit of a toff irl, Guy Ritchie should be made to watch this with his eyelids held open Clockwork Orange styles to learn and "refocus" 9&half/10
  8. The Affair is hard work,,,,,first 2 episodes set it up very nicely, then there 2 episodes of utter wank, before it pulls the nose up and glides home liked the 2-angle/perspective from each character, so what you see through his eyes as a confident, seductive amazonian, slowly reveals herself to be a damged vulnerable human being there are no whizz-bangs similarly - Olive Ketteridge, which is a much better/immersive piece of work. Frances whatsherface is superb and gives the drama real bite.
  9. i thought it was really good. jodorowsky is very creative so even what should be a somewhat mediocre story becomes interesting because each of the characters are so individually unique and how they interact with one another becomes extremely dynamic: eg. the psychotic and over-the-top father's relationship with the constantly opera singing mom with boobs spilling out versus the father's relationship with his emotionally fragile and something lythe son. at one point you can feel like this is a dysfunctional family, but jodorowsky seems to ignore dysfunctionality as something negative and presents it as a normal and perfectly acceptable dynamic to any family structure. her boobs were everywhere....
  10. so? a fittingly anarchic finale (Jodorowsky must be in his mid 80's by now) to El Topo & The Holy Mountain, 2 of the greatest pieces of transcendental cinema ever made
  11. Musicophilia - Oliver Sacks gonna have to nibble at this
  12. its sweaty, sleazy and manic under the heat of the location. whatshisface Cusack is a hardcore loon & N Kidman is pretty good as his psycho, spread em n wank missus <----- believe 7half/10 edit - that dint say much, its a crime caper of sorts set in the south with plenty of plotting & scheming & eye-rape
  13. DL is such a unique talent and creates moods like no other his casts are always a deranged array of faces n freaks, cant wait.
  14. have u watched The Paperboy? over le weekend,,,,,,Midnight Cowboy......still a complete trip of a film "you're the only 1 Joe,,,,,", D Hoffman (sp?) is superb, and ending with a kick in the guts a bit like Kes. 11/10 from same era The Little Big Man, quite long, but so many quality characters, Faye Dunaway as the madonna/whore...... 8/10
  15. PKD related a tv series adapted from "The Man in the High Castle" starts this week.......gotta have a nose @ this
  16. If you have a few glasses of wine or a few measures of scotch every now and then are you automatically labelled a boozehound? The vast majority of people who smoke do so in moderation without it interfering with their social or work lives and are simply tired of outdated ineffective legislation that does more harm to society than the drug itself ever has. The debate about drug policy is an important one, whether you do drugs or not. well said
  17. theres a DL exhibition in Middlesbrough of all places currently, if yer in the NE-UK it would be top of my list of special things to do can't wait for the new series - Bob must been in a wheelchair by now doe and what about this wee fella,,,,,,
