  1. Aww yiss

    Decided to start fresh instead of using the demo save. Game is so chill, and perfect for just grabbing the Switcheroo to play a stolen few minutes here and there.

    I'm a few hours in and have met a couple more of the characters... the story (stories?) is incredibly braindead but it does work for a relaxed drop in and out kind of game.

  2. is Warframe worth trying?

    It's free, so yeah, only costs your time and bandwidth for download. It's overwhelming as hell for a newbie though (even as someone who has put a couple hundred hours in I still get confused and have to look stuff up). The gameplay loop is very grindy but there's very little p2w and there are wikis full of useful information. I'd avoid story spoilers (there are some ace story missions later in the game) but for gameplay or on where to find a resource feel free to look anything up, it'll make your experience much more fun.

  3. yeah loads of empties the other side of the balcony around me as well, thought the same thing, ended up next to a weird fidgety Asian fella, someone who looked like they'd throw me off the balcony if I said Depeche Mode suck, and a guy who kept saying "Amazing!" at the end of every song

    good times

  4. 100% agree with donervan's review/comments.fantastic show despite being a bit cut back from what I read/heard about the NYC show.

    I couldn't actually find the merch stand, where was it? I wanted one of those dope black Myriad shirts but sounds like they didn't have them anyway. No We'll Take It vinyl either I'm guessing?

  5.

    Started playing a few board games at home, as an attempt at getting a new shared interest with the wife (IDM doesnt always cut it)

    We were big fans of Carcasonne for a while, got a few expansions, but its kinda lost its spark now.

    We got Pandemic for Christmas but only played it twice so far, its probably better with more players.

    Looking for our next game now actually, so this thread may prove useful.

    Fletch if you're looking for a 2 player game for playing with the Mrs then you have to pick up Fog of Love. It's a genius design, one of the most original games I've ever played and it looks absolutely GORGEOUS. Perfect couples game, you sort of role play a relationship between two people with personality traits kind of randomly given out in the game. Give it a look online, maybe watch the review by Shut Up and Sit Down as well. Can't stress enough what a hilarious and fun game it is. With the best tutorial.

    Yeah gf recommended it and it's great fun. It is quite pricey though. Other 2p games we enjoy:

    * Jaipur

    * 7 Wonders Duel

    * Hive

    * Hanamikoji

    * Castles of Burgundy (Up to 4 but I think it shines at 2, it's very complex compared to the other games I listed here though)

    And yeah Pandemic isn't so great with two people, much better with four.

    Enter the Gungeon is rad.

    Yes, yes it is - hopefully a sequel will come along someday...

    It's not that old is it? But yeah absolutely brilliant, actually feels like something unique for the roguelike genre.

    I also tried out the Octopath Traveler demo and oh boy is the sound design in it bad. The voice acting is terrible too, as expected.

  7. Yeah the exploration so far is fab, stuff like Korok seeds and ore is still scarce enough that it feels rewarding to find. I also really like the diversity between in biomes for plants and animals for cooking/elixirs.

    But man, the weapon system, I see where you're coming from flim but it just makes chests feel a little bit disappointing. Getting a sweet weapon means I know it's still going to break after a few fights. As weak points go though I can live with it, rest of the game is a blast so far.
