Personally I'm baffled by it. It's unbearable, obviously, but I feel unqualified to pass judgement on it because I have absolutely no idea what she was going for. Is it some kind of political statement? A parody of something I'm unfamiliar with? Some kind of post-post-ironic artwank? Dismissing it as crap seems unsatisfactory, because it's too crap - nobody could have made something that bad by accident, could they? I just tried watching some of her other videos, and it turns out she's actually a pretty good singer.

My list goes something like this: Chiastic Slide Exai Amber Untilted Oversteps Confield Draft 7.30 Tri Repetae Quaristice Incoonaboola LP5 The first five are the ones I really love; the order of the others is somewhat arbitrary and subject to change from listen to listen. There's not a single album that I don't like, they all have some great tracks.

I've tried listening to Actress a bunch of times and it just sounds like 90's Susuma Yokota played through broken headphones to me. What am I missing?
