    The fucking tape deck in my late model Honda Accord shit the bed.

     

    It'll load a cassette but then it just keeps auto-reversing in an attempt to play. Eventually after 3 or 4 back and forths it just gives up and ejects. This happens regardless of whether it's an ordinary tape or the line-in adapter I have for my mp3 player.

     

    Thankfully I don't do a lot of driving but if anyone has some protips hit a brutha up.

    Hear hear, I've got a heavy beard and sensitive skin (a shitty combo to say the least), so I usually keep a short trimmed beard to go with my short trimmed hair, basically looking like that one autechre dude. Also keep a Mach 3 in the shower for edging & keeping the neck tidy.

     

    Occassionally it'll get itchy (esp. when the air is dry in the winter) in which case I'll just shave the whole thing off and start anew, king of shaves gel or noxema sensitive cream.

     

    I shave in the shower, after I'm done with everything else and the steam has fully done its work. as soon as I get out I apply a liberal dousing of pinaud clubman aftershave. then I feel like a boss.

    Yeah, stay strong Squee, my grandad passed two years ago and even though he was on in years (91) it was still tough.

     

    Anyway he was a devout red sox fan, critic, and mispronouncer of names so I look at it as the powers above having spared him from the past 2 seasons.

    selling/buying a house is so fucking expensive and stressful.

     

    I empathize with your FWP Kel, but you forgot to add that real estate agents sit somewhere on the scum-of-the-earth scale between politicians and lawyers.

     

    promise yourself something awesome for when it's over. there's a nug on the table with my name on it just as soon as this materials science homework is done. i haven't really started it, but that's because engineering physics is slowly solidifying my mind. "A bird is accelerating in the xy plane..." - yes, that sounds reasonable, $300 textbook. birds always do that.

     

    What does this have to do with materials science? Are you calculating the air speed of an unladen, carbon-composite reinforced swallow?

    I had a poop today that was the antithesis of the clean break, someone might as well have just spackled my asscrack with chocolate cake frosting. Plus this happened at the office, where I had to use the institutional grade 80-grit sandpaper that passes for TP.

     

    Another messy explosion again this evening only this time I bogarted a baby wipe from our 9-m.o.'s room. Plus I took a shower that I had planned on taking anyway.

    I think I'm getting addicted to sleeping pills.

     

    Me too. I crave for them nearly every night, and when I do give myself a semi-plausible reason to take them, I'm on a pretty high dosage (about 3 times what other people need to take, apparently). It wipes my memory clean of the 1 or 2 hours before I go to sleep, and just makes everything easier and tranquil. Everyone's been warning me they're addictive and I do try to be careful though. But I have to sneak around to take them, if people around me knew how often I take them and how much I like taking them, they'd never let me get near sleeping pills.

    On normal work days I just can't seem to calm down without sleeping pills. Last night I think I got 4 hours sleep and 3 hours the night before. I'm sick of this shit.

     

    Have either of you guys tried melatonin (natural supplement)? Having been in a similar situation years back I'd recommend taking a 3 mg melatonin with whatever dose of sleeping pills you're on, then start gradually weaning off the sleep meds while keeping on the melatonin.

    at some point I'll also have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in one go. yikes.

     

    I went through this, no big deal, they put you out real good for it, plus you get some decent painkillers. If it's hydrocodone, you can easily extract the codeine from the acetaminophen by cold water extraction, after which you'll be riding pretty fucking high :sorcerer:

    I think there are audiowise differences between "normal" chill out and psybient. Like for example psybient uses time stretching similar to psytrance to give the music a trippy feel. Also the sound is more compressed and dance music like than regular chill out (well, anyway what I've been listening).

     

    Also there is a pretty clear thematic undercurrent in psybient: psychedelics, DMT, LSD, ayahuasca and all things related to them when it's not at least so upfront in other electronic music except for psytrance. That's what has been really putting me off from psybient lately. It sometimes sounds like a fucking brainwash attempt by some weird drug addled cult. :crazy: I still enjoy listening to Divine Moments of Truth though.. makes chills run down my spine.

     

    Yeah, I've started to explore some of the recommendations in this thread and so far it's pretty strange how insular this scene seems... like looking at this on discogs, who the f are all these artists? (/rant) Geogaddi notwithstanding (lol), it would appear that fans of this stuff are oblivious to material by FSOL, the Orb, global communication, etc. that many a watmmer would characterize as good ambient. Seems wierd but I'll approach it with an open mind nonetheless.
