  1. lol sounds great! I just got back from A Quiet Place. It was alright. Too many cheap jump scares but beautifully crafted. But it was almost as if the director had collected all of his favorite moments from a bunch of movies and then baked them into this movie. It's hard to explain without spoiling the entire movie.
  2. Hahahaha! Spot on! that movie is awesome but i had to google lots of things because the whole story is actual a greek tragedy by Euripides's Iphigenia, otherwise it doesnt make any sense. A24 are distributing and pushing those kind if movies check here for more weirdness. https://a24films.com/ They put out the best movies By the way, You Were Never Really Here is amazing. Best movie I’ve seen all year
  3. To be honest, I think I'm mumbling something about smoked salmon...

  5. I found this quite hilarious. Any chance we can be the judge of how stupid your fucking mumbling is? Never!
  6. They destroyed Shy FX... :( EDIT: FUck... General Levy as well...
  7. I can handle about 1 day off from working before I get work deprivation sweats. It’s not healthy and I hate it - and love it. Also, I live in constant fear that my clients thinks that my work is "ok" and I overanalyse the tone of their voice, their emails etc., haha... gawd.
  8. I did the sound design and mix for a commercial a couple of weeks ago and I had to add some background dialogue myself. You can barely hear it but it adds some texture. Now, the client wants all the tracks separately and I honestly can't get myself to bounce the tracks where you can hear my stupid fucking mumbling. It sounds sooooo bad and I absolutely hate my own voice.
  9. From earlier today... https://kotaku.com/25-great-games-you-can-play-on-laptops-and-low-end-pcs-1824288109
  10. I never got around to finishing Thimbleweed Park. I really didn’t like the two detectives’ voices. The clown was ok, but the “joke” got old pretty quickly...
  11. lol maybe call the police or something? I called the police on some neighbours once. I loved it!
  12. I first saw SMI at my uncle's place. SMI and Prince of Persia ruled my fucking life. Every time I visited my sister and I would play those two games. Those two games made me even more fascinated with video games because SMI had absolutely gorgeous visuals and the animations (later I found out it was rotoscoped) in Prince of Persia were so smooth. I remember my parents seeing SMI and saying, "It's like watching a cartoon!". Anyway, when I was 6 my dad said my sister and I could pick a game and we chose SMI. I still have that big and beautiful box in my closet alongside all the other LucasArts games. Maybe 2 years later I remember walking around an electronics store and while I was randomly digging around in a box full of games and there it fucking was... LeChuck's Revenge. I had no idea there was a sequel and I must have been so hyped that my parents bought it for me. It was even more beautiful than the original. The game kept crashing though, so we returned it. But for some reason and in contrast to SMI you only had to use the anti piracy mix'n'mojo wheel once. So even though we had handed the game back in I was able to continue to play it. It kept crashing though and I remember how it kept crashing over and over and over when Guybrush crawls into the box that gets shipped to LeChuck's fortress. I think I eventually finished LeChuck's Revenge before ever finishing SMI. Holy shit... now I want to play LeChuck's Revenge again. Also, I think those games are the reason why I love reggae and dub so much...
  13. Holy shit, my parents had that amp when I was a kid. I must have been like... 7-8 years old? I clearly remember the sound of the buttons and the feel of the volume knob. I stereo setup probably hasn't changed that much since I posted in this thread back in 2012. I'm still using my old Sony DVD player, but I'm not listening to CDs anymore so it's just working as an amp. I've got some small satellites hooked up to it and a subwoofer. It is so mid- and low-freq centered so I'm also playing the same signal out from my TV which is nothing but high freq, so those two things are a match made in heaven. But fuck... I don't listen to music on my stereo anymore. If anything I listen to it in my studio - and if not there I'll just put my bluetooth speaker in my pocket and bring it around the house. Fuck stereos.

  15. I watched Tomb Raider. It was god damn awful. I only watched it because I wanted to try out my local theater's new 4D experience bullshit. It actually turned a pretty awful movie into a rather enjoyable experience - but in the dumbest possible way of course. I thought the whole seat movement would be pretty low key but it was like being on a fucking roller coaster. The 3D was absolutely atrocious which made it hard to see what was going on. Now add violently shaking seats to that experience. The opening scene was a boxing match between Lara Croft (played by the insanely boring looking (and bored-looking) Alicia Vikander) and a female version of Ivan Drago. My eyes hadn't quite adjusted to the 3D by then and it didn't help that I was thrown around in my seat. Apart from that I got sprayed in the face with water whenever someone got splashed with water, they sprayed disgusting scents right into my face whenever they changed the scenery, and during snow storms they would turn on snow cannons. Also, if a bullet flew by the camera they would switch on tiny air cannons located behind your ears. It was so amazingly dumb. So yeah, fun experience, bad movie. The best part about my trip to the theater was what happened between the couple next to us before the movie started. He was texting someone and she was looking over his shoulder to see who he was texting. He then turned around and started yelling at her, "stop that girlie bullshit! I'm just texting a friend". I'm sure the rest of their night turned out great.
