Limpy, try reading the article without your pre-conceived bias. To paraphrase: Governments do this, and yes that includes the American government. Here is some evidence that the US government does this, and based on this evidence, it is safe to assume that other governments do this. Also, it's not a hedge, it's a statement of fact. Now, you could argue the fact that this (influencing other states) has been a matter of statecraft since before the idea of nation states is beyond question, so I'm not sure why this is supposed to be a big revelation. However given what we know about the lead-up to the Iraq war and the "evidence" presented in support of that minor debacle (please read the words "minor debacle" with dripping sarcasm), suspicion is not unwarranted. The author does a good job of laying out what we know so far, and even indicates that all things point to Russian involvement. There's no pro-putin bias in the article at all. There is some pro-Sanders/anti-Clinton stuff toward the end though.

Agreed. Not sure what to think. The fantasy/reality lines are pretty blurred. Enjoyed last nights episode. Fun pill-popping montage. Also liked the design touch of the spinning dryer & the reflection in Elliot's pupils. Damn mac death wheel. Yeah the spinning wheel of death recreation was excellent. Nice touch. Still don't know whether or not Elliot is in prison. Leaning toward yes. Still have no idea where this season is headed in the post-revolution denouement. But I like the uncertainty, the show runners/producers create this weird "who the fuck knows what's going to happen next" vibe really well. And you gotta think the dark army is going to be involved in Craig Robinson's bitcoin deal.

I really don't understand that one - Allen was really good for you last year, and Wijnaldum was pretty mediocre. He had one really good game (against you lot funnily enough), one fluke game where he scored nearly half his goals, and then a decent effort against a mentally spent Tottenham. Maybe Klopp can get more out of him.

That second season opener for mr robot was great. The opening scene with Phil Collins' "Take me Home" building in the background was outstanding. There's theory going round that Elliot is in prison, it makes some strong points. I feel like I need to rewatch season 1, since apparently my short term memory is non-existent.

Wasn't that posted elsewhere? Tangentially related, when I was painting houses, the company I was with was painting an old folks home, with a large number of elderly German residents. We had one African fellow working with us, some of the Germans did not like him being there at all. HOping they didn't pass on their irrational hatred to their descendants..

Not really speculation though is it. Wahhabists have been sporadically invading Iraq for some time. The money coming from the Saudis was growing as they tried to contain Saddam, and Desert Storm was a major setback in Iraqi-Saudi relations.
